War thunder is not real life. We have realistically modelled ships but not realistic mechanisms. It is for the purpose of the gameplay. Armor degradation helps lighter ships do damage to heavy cruisers and battleships. The same goes to repairing massive damages mid sea, including cannons, breeches, engines etc., pumping out tones of water within 30 seconds or rearming torps and shells on some imaginary point.

I think its also worth noting the sharn weights more then the nelson class XD

Currently in WT naval, torpedo bulges are not split into separate parts, while armor plates are. Only certain ships have torpedo bulges, such as on Renown and Eugen, but not on Scharnhorst.
Torp bulges could be split into parts in the future, and that would be a nice QoL change.
