There’s a lot of ship classification errors in this game with many around 4.0 surprisingly, but I cannot see this being switched TT’s as than comes the thought of horrible economics or it leading to Pandora’s box for what can & cannot be swapped, Besides it’s an Ocean going warship & shouldn’t be dumped in a tree called coastal like so many other bluewater ships currently are.
Also I doubt the devs would be generous enough to give an oversize reversed Hunt class a Rank V placement resulting in a lot of people getting a free Rank V & the first since the 2.01 TT split.
IMHO it should stay where it’s but be rerated to it’s historical Minelayer classification & given a destroyer spawn, the likelihood is high it would probably get a frigate DM then & Besides it isn’t like a Minelayer isn’t the strangest ship type in the bluewater TT when things like Armoured Cruisers & Sloops already exist
Yet like all classification errors, they likely will never change it.
Other examples:
Actual classification/ in game classification
Ayanami class Destroyer (Frigate)
Isles class Naval Trawler (subchaser)
Peacock class Corvette (Subchaser without ASW equipment)
Project 1331M corvette (Frigate, from my understanding MPK was a classification for ships smaller than frigates)
Project 204 corvette (subchaser)
K class Sloop (frigate & destroyer)
Scharnhorst class Battleship (Battlecruiser)
Vifor class destroyer (1917, it would be a cruiser at that point being rated as a scout cruiser in 1915 & similar the Tsukuba & Kurama class Armoured Cruisers are labelled as Battlecruisers due to their dates being between 1912 & 1922 when rated as such)
Alaska class Large Cruiser (Battlecruiser)
Project 69 Heavy Cruiser (Battlecruiser)
River class Frigate (gunboat, somehow the US derivative is labelled a frigate)
Albatros class Corvette (gunboat)
An so on.
