A few days ago, while looking for historical skins, I realized I couldn’t find an accurate historical skin for Plagis’s Spitfire. I checked the bug report section and found a report stating that the 3D model for the recently added Greek Spitfire was incorrect; it was supposed to be an LF model, but they had used the L model’s 3D mesh, which differs in the rudder and the air intake beneath the engine. The creator also noted that all Spitfire LF Mk.IXc models were incorrect because none featured the specific air intake characteristic of the LF model—suggesting the developers hadn’t done much research.

I’ve also come across information implying that the Bf 109 G-6 is likely incorrect as well; it uses the 3D model of the February 1943 G-6 variant but is equipped with the DB 605 AM engine (introduced in early 1944), whereas the “Erla Haube” canopy wasn’t added to G-6s until December 1943. This suggests that the G-6 model in the Swedish tech tree is the historically accurate one, while the versions in the German tech tree and the Swedish premium line would be correct if they used the DB 605 A engine.
Does anyone have information on early G-6 models fitted with the DB 605 AM engine? Or is this just a developer error?
Does anyone know of similar issues?
