I want answers from players of the previous year’s “Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses” event. my friend is trying to tell me that our new “nuclear thunder” event is a full copy of that one, and that Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses had MLRS, Surface-to-Surface Missile Systems, logistics mechanic and etc. I don’t know if he is out of his mind or just has a bad memory, but… answer, yes or no, was or wasn’t?
You can read the official posts about the events to know what they had.
Here is the official post about the first SEAD event: ( Try out “Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses”, An Asymmetrical Battle for Air Supremacy! )
Here is the official post for the second SEAD event (just a short wile after the first with some quick changes): ( Try Out “Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses” Again This Weekend! )
Here is the official post about the Third SEAD event: ( Deep Strike: Attack and Defend Important Infrastructure! )
This was the usual test event with an April fools skin. The test was SEAD with the April fools part being the nukes.
Its based upon the SEAD event, but probably built up from scratch with a new map and the nuke mechanics.
You’re both wrongish.
There was barely even april fools skin at all. This was just a regular test but they said it was april fools at least the previous ones looked like april fools.
SEAD #1
- Asymmetric teams of fixed lineups: Mig-21Bis (Defender) vs F-4E Phantom + AH-1F (Attacker)
- Limited number of spawns per player
- Attacker objectives were to destroy S-75 Dvina SAM sites, either by destroying the Radar or the entire site
- other than the S-75 themselves, SAMs were also defended by ZSU-23-4 Shilkas
- Realistic Battle mechanics without Enemy Markers
- No Airfields for landing/taking off, both sides simply spawned in air and had “exit points” for rearming(?)
SEAD #2
- Mostly the same as above
- Asymmetric Teams again (bugged) of Attacker and Defender
- Objective to destroy a Powerplant instead of SAM sites
- Added Rapier SAM systems to defenders objective
Very fair and balanced (/s)
Nuclear Thunder
- Both sides attack and defend objectives
- Objectives include convoys/bases/emplacements to destroy, or capture bases/emplacements if your own ground units push far enough
- Unlimited respawns
- No Asymmetric number of players on either team
- RB with Markers
- Multiple Airfields for landing/rearming/defending/attacking
- Can use your own planes in addition to provided lineups
- No Helicopters
- Nukes (obv.)
- ARM testing
No, Nuclear Thunder was completely different from the SEAD events
Thank you all. after your comments I finally convinced him he was wrong and proved my point. thank yall again.
