So i finally have a chance to buy a top tier premium jet and im currently torn between the german FA18C swiss and the F2A ADTW I’ve heard both bad and good things Respecticely like how rhe F18 is slow but its sparrows are pretty good or how the F2A is constantly fighting jets with fox 3 but arguably is the best dogfighter and all, can you guys like tell me which is easier to use coming from someone who usually plays in rank 5 air
It’s a big step up from rank 5 to 8.
Anyway, I have the F-2A ADTW.
Definitely not a bad jet, just having the AIM-7Ms really puts you at a disadvantage in headon engagements
radar is incredible at picking things up, but seems to lose lock relatively easily and can be annoying to get the right target (no HMD)
Great duelling flight model, I don’t think I’ve lost a 1 on 1 with it, gun being a vulcan is quite nice to use
120 countermeasures are more than enough too.
However it does suffer from the F-16 compression where it kinda locks up above mach .9, and it’s not crazy fast (faster than a hornet though)
Matchmaker kinda sucks though, most likely due to the current sales
AAM-3s are argueably the best IR missiles in game though, and are incredibly deadly
I dont have swiss one but US one, but the only real notable difference between some weight and thrust and some avionics is that the swiss F-18 gets 120x CMs instead of 60x.
Anyway.
Ultimately the answer should be whatever TT you want to reach top tier in more.
Hornet is quite fun, 7Ps for 12.7 are amazing missiles - best sparrows but, still, theyre sparrows.
But it lacks IRCCM missiles and HMD which will be notable in uptiers. Against 13.0 not so much, but good luck when the Su-30MKK is prowling around lol.
Also id advise you to NOT jump from rank V straight to the top tier. You WILL suffer.

The F2a adwt suffers from the current matchmaking.
At 13.0 your aim7m are outclassed by a lot (especially against r27er) , and you will have to deal with fox 3. AAM3 are really good, but they can be inconsistant sometimes (like the radar). The airframe is really good for dogfight , but that’s overrated as you will not often engage in those (if you get in gun range usually someone will kill you or your target). you have to play it defensively and that can be frustrating.
The F18c is a better pick as you have better BVR capabilities (though it will still face fox 3 sometimes) and comes with more ground strike options for GRB.
But if you want to climb the Japanese TT, the f2a is still a solid option.
Also jumping from V to VIII will cause to make a lot of mistakes (as i found out).
I’ve bought and i really like it but it’s not an easy plane to fight with
F18 swiss if you want to get the german eurofighter typhoon. F2A ADTW if you want to get F2A and Su30MKM.
