If i try to use dumb bombs a huge green line appears across my screen, and in normal tws it activates target point on everyone, it is extremely annoying and i haven’t found a solution online anywhere and have tried every keybind under the sun, please help.

its just CCRP its normal there is nothing wrong
but how do i stop it happening? This never happened before this update and i’m not even using any guided weaponry? This also happens when i am using an entire air to air loadout hence it being quite annoying when trying to play air rb.

is this a bug with new update do you think? or is this something i can disable?
Certain pods with TWS, like Lantirn on the F-15E/I do the same thing, and have for awhile. I do not know why they do it, or if it’s intended.
This is normal behaviour. Its the FLIR on the PIRATE being cued onto the radar/IRST contact. This is done IRL so you can look at the video feed and ID the target if needed. The same mechanic also allows the Litening targeting pod to be cued onto a ground target using GMTI, allowing for more rapid A2G deployment.
(typhoon should also be able to create a target point using the RWR/ESM as well, and other radar modes not currently modeled like SAR)
If you are playing Germany, then you wont have this with the M-Scan as it lacks PIRATE.
I do need to write a suggestion though for a toggle for this functionality.

Its not CCRP persay.
Its the FLIR being cued onto target which is correct behaviour as pilots can use the FLIR to VID a target. The camera locking onto a target, any target, creates a target point. Target points are also used for CCRP.
Ah okay, It wont let me use dumb bombs though however, is this intentional or is this my error and if so what can i do?

you can kinda disable it by putting a target point anywhere on the map. As long as you dont remove it, it shouldnt show back

If you want to disable the green line you can press multi function menu (default bind on PC is Y) then go to cockpit and select disable target point
If you manually place a target point it should override it, then you can just CCRP to bomb or you need to just disable your radar on approach, disable the target point and bomb using CCIP.
I’m going to write a suggestion at some point for a toggle for that functionality

yeah it just seems a bit ridiculous all of a sudden i can’t drop dumb bombs whatsoever? im messing around with binds but i really cant figure out what to change lol
Weaponry > Automatic Bomb release in CCRP mode
you can toggle it off if you want to drop bombs even with a target marker
there’s also “Activation of autoatic bomb release in CCRP mode at mission start” in Air Battle Settings in the options menu, you can disable it from there too.

yeah that fixed the issue with not being able to use dumb bombs, however now having issues with gps bombs not working properly with aiming points due to this auto selection.
It’s because Gaijin half-assed TGP sight stabilization to be the target point instead of optical sights’ position being a separate memory cue.
There was a few month period where TGPs could be destabilized and operate as a boresight for the aircraft while a Point of Interest cue could be placed elsewhere, but for some reason the devs removed unstabilized optics and linked the cue points into one thing. Really annoying when you’re trying to use AGM-65s and the LIGHTENING pod is looking at Egypt while overhead in the Fulda Gap.
