Helis with IRCM DIRCM etc

Feels like helicopters that have IRCM or similar countermeasures are unkillable with new AA
IR missiles get fooled and ARH just dont see hovering helicoter standing still.
Only way to kill them is with SACLOS missiles, or i just dont get it.

The new ARH systems “should” be able to see hovering helis at reduced range as the radars are sensitive enough pick up the Doppler effect from their rotors, the Buk3m (IRL) can detect a moving heli from 60km, but that drops to 12km when its hovering. But that “rotor wash” isn’t modeled currently, that needs to be fixed ASAP.

I locked ec665 tiger with it 5km away hovering fired and the radar missile just went away, killed all his pars3 tho xd

I’m not sure how sensitive the actual missile seekers are, but I would think that the SPAAs datalink should at least be able to put them within proxy fuse range.

Any ARH should even AMRAAM

Rotor blades not being modeled outside of building/tree collision is the issue here.

Played few games with 28nm before this update. Iris T hits, claws with 9x hits too. Except when you turn the helicopter sideways. Maybe something changed in this update.

After how many missiles tho? If you play as it you probably dont see the 5 or 6 missiles the Iris had to fire until 1 got a lucky hit

I didn’t count. But as far as I remember, there were 3 helicopters at that time, I don’t remember which ones either. But IRIS shot down all three. In less than 5 seconds.

Not impossible if he spawned both launchers and spammed like hell

He’s a troll that’s in favour of abusing OP CAS, I wouldn’t bother engaging for now.

On topic, LDIRCM needs to be limited to it’s real function (1 missile intercepted at a time due to laser functionality), this is both realistic and balanced

Sorry. Gather your friends, create a custom room, make some tea, bring your favorite pink ponies, and play your own “tank.only” game if you don’t like CAS that much. :)

CAS is okey but there should also be a way to counter it, not that IRIS-T SLM has most advaced IR seaker missile that still gets fooled by IRCM aven tho you fire 4 missile at one mi28nm

I play plenty of CAS, much more than I play SPAA so I hardly qualify as a CAS denier/hater.
However I draw the line at CAS which is so negligently overpowered (in this case, the Mi-28NM) that it can single handedly wipe a team off the map with the prime counters (IRIS-T and SAMP/T) being unable to effectively deal with the problem.

I believe in balanced CAS, not OP CAS or OP spaa, there should always be drawbacks or limitations to the platform or weaponry, and in the current META, long range FNF, LDIRCM equipped helis do not have drawbacks that outweigh their performance
