Helicopters ruining the fun

we got none of that JAGM. As of now we’re focusing our Guided A2G function from our F-16 and Flankers with Maverick and Kh-29 as the main A2G missile. Usually we just use S-8 or Hydras for Helo since our helo doctrine is almost limited to infantry support-ish role. And rafale coming with Hammers practically strengthen this.

Fair is when I can deny the sky to any would be flying rat.

CAS and bombers can easily be locked by any radars, helicopters cant be locked by planes at more than 2km, and in most of the cases in a air fight a helicopter has the advantage over a plane witch is unrealistic and dumb.

Sure, getting shot by other ground vehicles can be surprising, but the difference is that you can usually see and hear those vehicles before they fire and have a chance to react. ATGMs often come from beyond visual range with no warning, so enabling missile diamonds wouldn’t give helicopters an unfair advantage, it would just make the engagement feel more skill-based and fair.

Cheap info and only call barbaric moves skills. lol

O yes our always frontal maps. No brain needed just make yourself as close to aimbot as possible. So much skill So fair xD

I have a very contrarian view from seeing an entire decade of playerbase complaining leading to snail taking the sledgehammer to some aspect of CAS, after which the whining quiets for about a month tops before focusing on a different aspect of CAS. As it is pretty damn obvious that the people doing the complaining will never be satisfied no matter what you nerf for them, it is overdue to take that same sledgehammer to those very people’s ability to complain.

How do you do that? (Re)buff the counters and make them available at all times, so that nobody in their right mind can come up with a legitimate excuse to complain.

Simulator Mode allows all planes and helicopters to be (albeit expensive) first spawns with forced ground takeoffs. It does away with the idiocy of “earning aircraft,” which is inherently unabalanceable - no matter what you set the costs to, one team will always get the aircraft up first and the other team will then always complain its “OP” for some stupid reason. Now Sim’s exact numbers will certainly need adjusting to fit the reality of RB, but that system is far better than what RB has.

In a Sim-styled spawn point system, each player would now be able to spawn a Fighter early game to swat down expected early-game CAS if they so desired. And if they choose not to, it’s now their fault they died with nothing to blame but themselves. That is how you really solve it - you kick the ball into the whiners’ court and dare them to hit it back - if they don’t, they can no longer claim to be victims.

Furthering that end would add in a bunch of common-sense (re)buffs to all SPAAGs to make also the land-based counters far simpler to use effectively. Radar SPAAGs are generally already good at killing CAS. Non-radar SPAAGs would need some sort of crew-skill-based lead indicator in RB to compensate for planes gaining unequal benefit compared to SPAAGs from mouse aim and 3rd person view.

Added into all of the above would be borrowing the idea of certain default machines added into everyone’s lineups as Naval does with aircraft whether you bring your own aircraft or not. I would extend this idea to give every user a BR-appropriate default 1) Fighter 2) CAS 3) SPAAG or SAM and 4) at appropriately high BRs, a Strike Drone. Then everyone has the tools to kill CAS themselves and a SP system enabling use of all counters right from the start without excuses.

Then you let the playerbase solve whatever “problem” they have with CAS themselves.

And this is indeed really dumb. As a part of rebuffing ground-to-air counters, I wholeheartedly support making all helicopters as easy to lock as other aircraft.

If we ever want the CAS debate to end, the playerbase must have counters that 1) work as intended 2) are always available for use and 3) able to defend themselves against tanks in order to reach useful spots on the map outside their own spawns if at all physically possible.
