When I fly a helicopter in a test flight or high tier
rb, I can’t properly lock any targets moving or unmoving. I don’t know if this is a bug or just me messing up the key binds. Before this happened, I would click F to stabilize my sight, hit it again to lock the target, hit it once more to have that circle appear to fine tune my lock, then hit it again to unlock the target. Now for some reason whenever I hit F the camera on my Apache will only destabalize or stabilize, it won’t lock any tank or plane. Does anybody have an idea at what might be happening?
I can’t say I’ve had the same experience. Is it just one specific heli, or several? might prove useful to check out keybinds if you haven’t already. Also, when did it stop working? After an update, keybind changes, anything distinct?
I have the AH 64 (GR) but have also test drives the rah66 and ka50 with the same issue. I have just noticed it after the most recent patch with the br changes and reload nerfs. I don’t think I have changed any of my helicopter keybinds since the issue came up and trying to fix it. All the posts on YouTube about helicopter keybinds are from years ago so I’m not sure if I just need to reset my keybinds. If I do need to reset the keybinds, I don’t know which to set. Sight stabilization doesn’t work, it just stabilizes and destabilizes the sight, it doesn’t lock the target for me.
Yeah its very buggy in test fly, but it works okay-ish in an actual gam. Definitely takes more than a few attempts at pressing sight stab though…
So the sight stabilization keybind should lock moving and unmoving targets for me, not just stabilize and destabilize the sight?
Yup! if you can get the crosshair on the target and press sight stab hotkey, it should auto track. But also make sure the heli you’re flying is capable of it. For example, a lot of the 9.7 helis dont have auto track.
Alright, thanks! I’ve been only using top tier Heli’s like the Apache.
I wish I kept the clip from the Superhind where I couldn’t lock a Huey 1.2km away despite the optical zoom making it take up my entire screen
Heli target tracking has been very jank since the last major update
Yeah, at first I though it was just my distance from the target but soon realized it did not matter if I was a half a mile away or 4 miles away
it just won’t work like it used to before this latest patch, hopefully it starts working soon.
