I would prefer to remove the forward helipad and gove them the option helipad or airfield.
With the airfield further back (they are too close anyway) and the helipad having no air defenses. So they can shorten their time to target, but at a risk.

I belive on some maps further helipads are so close to the airfield that there is no real difference between them.
But then ok, just keep it at the distance that no heli weaponary can hit the ground units right after starting.
Yes and at a range that a jet can intercept the helo or reach it just as it can start firing like how you can intercept bombers at the start.
What use is a jet fighter as a counter if it can’t get to the helicopter in time.
I think that there is another subject (PE-8/Lancaster) that on some maps (Karelia) can bomb enemy ground spawn at the time that tanks are just leaving it.

Yeah airspawns shouldn’t exist. I know for floatplanes there needs to be a solution. But i thin disallowing them on landlocked maps is fine if they have no landing gear.

We are because simulator is the gamemode, so all sim vehicles need to be playing by the same rules. So air s obviously counts as playing sim (hell it counts more than playing tanks which is just RB with a slightly different view, but my view on tanks in SB aren’t the subject of this thread).
So of course playing air sim matters.
We are talking about SB, which is trying to be a simulation. So does Air SB, so the same rules apply.

Are you even part of the sim Community is what interests me. A shooter player coming here to get ground RB+ with less potent planes isn’t rare. To judge if he is a shooter player abusing SB or not you usually check his air Activity. Since that is the only real place you can sim in war Thunder.
Also the jets do work the same in ground and air sim. So judging whether you can intercept a helo can be done in both as you can see the distance travelled…
Since the jets not being able to intercept in time being the main problem with the helicopter spawn with engines on, this is very reasonable.

Not every simnneeds to be super high fidelity. It does simulate flight, therefore it is a flight sim.

Remove the forward bases for helicopters - such a simple solution, suggested so many times, yet still not implemented.
Helis should spawn 10+km from battle area and fixed-wing aircraft should spawn at airbase 20km+ from battle area. The rear heli base should be defended by short range AAA like Shilka/Vulcan with lethal skill, so fighters cannot strafe helis on the ground.
Recently they made opposite change and actually moved the airbases in tank SB maps CLOSER to the game area… another stupid change driven by RB crowd.
