It’s actually pretty well known for being pretty much immune to 12.7mm rounds, and even resistant to 20mms all the way up to the cockpit being resistant to 37mms.
So yes, the “flying tank” is extremely weak in game. And things like the AH-1G are extremely strong as they can take many hits.
Lastly, the ircm, exhaust vents and so on barely do anything to prevent stinger hits on the helis. Fim-92s don’t care about any of this, not even flares.
Wow, this is insanely nerfed🤣 Please show me then some can shoot down mi-24 with a simple pistol….
In simple terms, I wasted my time grinding helicopters. They are absolutely pointless. The damage model has nothing in common with reality. Any hit counts as if you’re flying an empty helicopter with no armor, no systems, nothing. Everything feels like it’s made of air.
The aviation nerf is insane, especially for helicopters. I’m honestly shocked by the developers. Most likely I won’t play helicopters anymore, or I’ll stop playing this game entirely. There’s no point. I’d rather move to DCS.
To be fair, that was mag dumping two magazines into it at super close range. Albeit this might warrant a nerf to the infantry gun more than a buff to the Mi-24.
On topic. Tiger at the current BR is a joke. No DIRCM, no gun, massively worse ATGM. It’s incredibly overtiered.
.380 ACP (9×17mm). And it’s closer to an Uzi it seems. Not exactly a pistol. The heli also tanked the first magazine with zero issue and it looks as if on the second he got lucky and hit the fuel tank several times.
It seems to be a wierd amalgam of mutliple lynx variants or something. Not strictly speaking accurate to the AH1 but not implicitly inaccurate to the Lynx in general.
Helicopters All:
Buff vehicle model to actually withstand what they should be able to, the fuselages don’t degrade projectiles currently pretty much at all, having rounds pass through as if it’s empty space and a motor.
Russia:
Mi-24s (all)
Buff fuselage strength and armor to make them worthy of the brs they are currently at. They are nicknamed the “flying tank” because of their durability and weapon load outs.
They should be able to withstand 12.7mm rounds from all angles, including the rotors, and the cockpit can only be pierced by 30mm cannons or greater, depending on the range.
Additionally:
Fix HIRSS, and the IRCM on all hinds, because stingers and the like can easily lock you from any angle and they are guaranteed to hit. You cannot move quick enough to evade even dumping mass flares, once you’ve been fired at your going to be hit.
Mi-24V 9.7 → 9.3
There is no reason to stack 3 helicopters all at 9.7, and given the Mi-24V has the least amount of weaponry, in suspended armaments, and its main rotary machine gun, it should become a 9.3
