Brother… you did not just say the Mi-28A is bad… it’s literally only lacking a thermal and is lower in br than the Soviet one.
It also, for some reason is much cooler than the Soviet ones, meaning anti air missiles like stingers can miss far easier, likely a bug, but regardless it’s not bad.
I played the AH-1F recently and I’ve written off 9.7 Helis, the free SPAA just means you get spammed by Ozelots/Gepard 1A2s/ZSU-23-4M4s and you die immediately. Maybe the Mi-24s/Tzefa DE can survive a little longer through periodic flare drops but I’m not interested in playing that rn.
With the Mi-24s you can stay out of range of the missiles and you also have enough CMs to do flare series and your missiles are fast and good at range, the AH-1s have non of this are terrible.
The mi-24s aren’t that good. They run too hot in game, and once an Fim-92 is fired, you’re dead, no matter how you dump the flares, no matter if your Ircm jams it. Maybe I have really bad luck, but I’ve never had a fim miss me.
And before you say “did you do this?” Yes. I know how to dodge them. They’re just OP spaa missiles.
Israeli Little Bird could easily go down to 8.7, only 4 TOWs and mediocre optics. It’s really not that much better than something like the Alouette (which also gets 4 MGs along with 4 SS.11)
AH-64A going to 11.3 also wouldn’t really be anything crazy, sure 16 hellfires but it can’t compete with 12.0 SPAA
What would you add for Sweden (or its subtrees) in terms of helicopters? They don’t use attack helicopters irl and have already received 2 trialed helies.
I can only think of naval Seahawk, giving it better missiles with technically possible.
Italian Leonardo is actually one of the biggest helicopters manufacturers in the World, that’s a shame that their tech tree is so thin currently.
Even Swedish HKP3C is actually Italian built AB.204B, which for some reason we still don’t have in the Italian TT with their weapons.
Italian helicopters tree at bare minimum should be smth like this (including subtrees branch and naval helicopters, which can also work against ground):
Spoiler
Btw it’s also funny how Gaijin thinks that 8 Spike ER/PARS = 16 AGM-159/CM-502KG or 8 LMUR. Current Spike carriers should be at least one step lower from these or they should give them Spike ER2.
The approach to balancing end game Helis has been atrocious, I can only assume this is because they looked at top helis and decided everyone needed Fire and Forget missiles; even after they added LDIRCM which is all the Mi-28NM and Z-10ME needed to stay relevant. With Vikhrs and AKD-10s they would have been able to fight at top tier but still be checked by SACLOS SAMs like the FlaRad/ADATS etc. instead of having to be lucked by an IRIS-T/Aster/AMRAAM or chased by a Jet
And no one will convince me AH-64E with LDIRCM+JAGM MRs would be more balanced than AH-64Ds with Longbow Hellfires. Gaijin bending themselves into a pretzel to avoid adding 114Ls has been comical.
ASS50 would be unironically the best low BR heli on sweden fielding superior agility and having actual CM’s something only the AHS and MI-28 get.
Solid 9.7
We had a handful with tow launchers but for Afghan we used them as transport heli’s primarily. Regardless its a solid addition imo. Would be a good replacement for the MI-28 though id rsther it be TT but i digress
As for the replacement of the AHS we just purchased the new rails and and such for hellfires on our MH-60’s so gaijin can replace the AHS with a real in service vehicle.
The same rails can also use JAGM but thats for Gaijin to decide if they wanma go there i dont care realistically.
The AH-56A is currently abit sad. It sits at 9.7 with no LWS, no RWR, and no countermeasures. This means it faces SAMs, radar SPAA, A2A missiles, and other helicopters that are still in service to this day, without having ANY of the necessary tools to counter em. All it has to fight back is rockets, and some TOWs that barely reach out 2 miles.
The AH-1F at the same BR has better TOWs (and more of em), RWR, LWS, and IRCM.
Moving it to 9.0 would take it out of range of 2S38s, A-10As&Su-25s, multiple AAM armed helis, and SAMs like the Strela and OSA.
