Helicopter grind is awful / which way is the fastest?

I mean they work. But they’re far from untouchable. Especially non American ones as you will see the M247 and its proxy rounds almost immediately.

I understand M247 is a thing so that’s why I mentioned there will be outliers to the rule.
Alouette which is a 8.3 heli can engage targets with impunity if enemies only have non-HE-VT gun AA and/or IR slingers, which is quite ridiculous considering some IR slingers can be as high as 10.0.

I miss heli realistic battles lmao

idk why you would think that last part would make for good gameplay

People will just spam Spikes fire and forget , if pvp is back it will need some balance but i wish we had a better gamemode, i wish Helicopters on GRB had their own objetives and not only enemy tanks, idk maybe we could get an enemy base with AI to attack and get better rewards, this would make the stock grind easier for the shitty helis with rockets and no CCIP or the shitty helis at 13.0 which gets stock 4km atgms (basically a 8.7 -9.7 range)

Best way to grind them is with tanks sadly, Heli EC is good for grinding modules, but it’s really unforgiving to early helicopters with nothing but rockets and slow and short range AGMs.

Some tips

Take on the easier targets on Heli EC like convoys without AA or AT crews that can be taken out with rockets when you are bare-bones stock, once you unlock AGMs you can go after bigger targets like AA, tanks and convoys. Doing cap objectives also helps too.

Watch out for Gepards and other radar gun AA, you can usually take them out just outside their firing range with AGMs

Stay in the game for as long as possible, most people quit after a few deaths, and if you persist you can reap big rewards for yourself.

It’s a real pain, and like others said, strap yourself for the most boring time you’ll have playing this game, I recommend you put on a good music playlist when playing Heli EC and grinding modules. GL.

My condolences that sounds like ass, and not the good kind

That’s my plan so far, i have been slowly chipping away at the Bo105s with the 10.3 lineup but i’m considering buying the Pzbtl in order to get the UHT in a day or two

Most of the struggles of Heli EC come from either the distance between targets, it can sometimes take up to 5 minutes of pure actionless transit from one target area/convoy to another, and the other issue is with you teammates;
Doing well in Heli EC (especially near to top tier) is mainly down to what is on your team, if you want to hunt aircraft and there is a Z-19E on your team, pack your bags and leave, same applies if there is a KA-50/52, rooivalk or apache on your team, you practically stand no chance at doing anything but capturing points.

Most of my perspective comes from playing the G-Lynx and later the AH Mk.1 in heli EC about 4-5 patches ago, however i did choose to play various ground vehicles alongside the Heli EC grinding in order to speed up the already abysmally slow progress

Basically what I did. By the time heli research was allowed by tanks, I had the Alouette, semi used it in an 8.3 lineup, but used Pzbtl for the rest of it, plus some (a lot) GE…of which I am ashamed

there is always the option of not engaging with the convoys and waiting for the usual garrison of 4 zsus and other soft stuff to appear
but if you’re for example returning from capping and the convoy spawns behind you you’re cooked specially if you’re in some slow ahh heli
also did i mention on the map that the za35 and m42s appear they actively go against the geometry(phasing in and out of the ground and climbing up 90 degrees or going underground and shooting you from inside the map) to counter any form of resistance?

Just don’t play helis. They’re boring
