I plan on turning this into a future suggestion but I wanted to get feedback before I do. This is a simple change to the current land and capture objective we have in Helicopter PvE. Instead of simply landing, capturing, and flying back to a helipad, this objective will have players assault an area and neutralize all enemy targets before landing or hovering above the objective. Attack helicopters are unable to capture the objective, but they can receive points from the targets on it. Utility helicopters would be the only helicopters that can hover or land to capture. The landing or hovering would simulate troops being deployed to hold the objective. The objective will be defended by Infantry with MANPADS, RPGs, Heavy machine guns, and IFVs/tanks. All enemies are able to attack and damage players.
1.) Player locates capture Icon
2.) Player locates and eliminates enemy targets
3.) Player lands on objective until it is captured
The goal is to add more variety and immersion to the existing capture objective.
Wishful thinking but unlikely to be added:
- A.I troops with deployment animations
- Troops required to actually capture the objective
- Fast roping added as a vehicle modification (to quickly deploy troops without landing)
- Helicopter class rework (The Mi-8 is not an attack helicopter, Gaijin.)
- Captured objective must be defended from waves of enemy attacks after taken from enemy
Would you like to see this change in heli PvE?
- Yes
- No
