I’m playing almost exclusively Heli PvE since a couple of months now.
The arrival of the Nuclear Thunder event has seen some ‘features’ ooze into the Heli PvE.
One that is clearly more a bug than a feature is the fact that Helicopter don’t get any Fuel indication anymore. And no warning when reaching low level of fuel. So if you don’t have any ‘vocal warning’ on your helicopter, you can end up crashing from lack of fuel.
That’s a bug that’s present since April. Could perhaps be the time to fix it.
Now, as the Nuke Thunder started, we also saw the ZA-35 SPAA on Rocky Moutain starting to shoot at incoming missiles. Erasing sometimes whole group of Laser guided missiles, wire guided and so forth.
But as that map only appear from time to time, and could just be quitted as it should have been removed long ago from the Heli PvE (it’s the worst map of the lot), the small number of ZA-35 were ‘manageable’.
But oh surprise, now the gepard also learned that trick after the last patch. And oh boy the Gepard can get more furious than a whole nest of Japanese Hornet. First battle I did today, I saw my whole 16 Hellfire 2 volley of missile being obliterated by the Convoy SPAA. Not a single got through.
To demolish the first SPAA I had to send a whole 16 volley to completely overhelm them and even then they first managed to intercept 12 Hellfire 2.
Then I managed to use 4 to 8 apiece to delete the remaining SPAA.
But it’s not only the convoy spaa that engage missile. Front SPAA do too.
It was already unfun to be sent in battles with Wire guided missile when there are Fire and Forget launche in the team, or whole 16 missiles Laser guided helis. But if Laser guided slingers start to struggle too from the complete crap of the SPAA intercepting everything around…
But if now the SPAA can delete any ‘slow’ missile that way that game mode will be dead for anything under not overloaded with Laser guided missiles or Fire and Forget ones.
