Heli/APC Infantry Insertion

You don’t get it, the infantry aren’t playable they are only NPC’s that deploy from your Chopper and IFV.

Tank tracks is now a weapon and 7.62mm has a reason to live.

Chopper transport matters. Shit it just occurred to me you could air lift 105mm howitzers from HUY’s !

The game could be so awesome. Mortar, ATGM, MANPAD, Sniper & laser designator team, Grenadiers, Infantry could dig in as their idle animation.

It would make using a bulldozer blade to make a shellscrape for my freshly flown in 105mm howitzer quite appealing.

It would be great if it stopped spawn rush simply by being a speed bump.

“Are you sure you want to get rid of the soldier?”
Yes. 😀🔫

Only to protect Enlisted from getting modern trash do i support infantry coming into WT

The idea kind of reminds me of End War where you can call in regular army units to protect capture points.

Not like we expected but definitely it is.

i always wanted THIS, but figured it would be impossible, so i wrote it out like this post instead, but they did it. i am so hyped. ideally it is tied to a vehicle in some way, but i will be happy with it if it plays well. cbt is going to be very interesting.

We’re one step closer. A lot of people seem to like the idea of being able to use the new infantry in conjunction with player-controlled vehicles. The CBT showed that the A.I infantry is able to navigate basic obstacles and engage other units on their own. No reason the A.I couldn’t be used by players in vehicles. Tons of vehicles and weapons would have a chance to be used for their intended purpose.

I think they’re gonna port enlisted into war thunder (ant that’s the ultimate goal if the infantry cbt). Regardless I don’t see enlisted changing APCs so they’re used more realistically if they remain standalone.

I am so desperate for transport helis and apcs to be a reality. I want to see both this feature and enduring confrontation for all modes that is permanently available, THEN, combined with infantry, war thunder will be the BEST sim ever made.

Same dude. Been waiting since helicopters were introduced to the game. Not only would helicopter gameplay be more engaging but there’s a huge list of viable helicopters. A bunch of them are used by multiple nations which makes them even easier to implement.

Don’t forget the Rooivalk, it is a “combat support helicopter” meaning that Gaijin thinks it isn’t an attack helicopter

Doesn’t have any troop carrying ability.

Could it have a sling for transporting cargo maybe?

Might just be gettin the m18 treatment lol

Well Gaijin also thinks that the Mi-8, Mi-4, light utility, and scout helicopters are all attack helicopters. An AH-6 and an Mi-8 are NOT the same as an Apache just because they have weapons. Totally different roles even though the other roles aren’t utilized in the gameplay.

And how the Shar 1s are classed as strike aircraft even though it was designed as a fighter Harrier

I think it was only used as a fighter because it was the only fixed wing aircraft the British task force had when they were deployed to the Falkland Islands against the Argentinians.
hms-hermes-flight-deck-as-she-sails-from-portsmouth-for-the-south-atlantic-five-sea-harriers-of-no-800-squadron-fleet-air-arm

It was still pretty much an attack aircraft, but they just stuck some AA missiles on them and used them for fleet defense and combat air patrol. It would be like the US calling the A-4 a fighter because its only armament is AIM-9Bs.
(That would be a really cool co-op mission btw)

True but it has Strike in the name for that reason but as primarily as a fighter
