"Heavy Cavalry" Update Trailer!

>Lack of mobility and scouting
>M41, Luchs A2, Wiesel 1A4

>Lack of stabilisers
Name me a vehicle at that BR range that has both stabilisers and mobility, the Centurions trade mobility for the stabiliser and even then its a 7.7 tank

>Huge gaps like 6.3/7.0 & 7.3
These gaps are arbitrary and you can always use vehicles outside of the BR gap, be it under or above. The Panther A at 6.0 doesn’t make it a bad tank to use at 6.7 for example.

or just skip the BR gap like people who play nations outside of the big 3 do

Anyway in other news:

fingers crossed we simply get two, a premium and nonpremium

I wouldn’t bet any money on it. Gaijin knows the F-14D is the most requested American aircraft as of current, they’ll of course monetise it.

Look again between 5.3 and 6.7.

M60AOS, T-55A, TO-55, etc now look Germany.

LOL what???

fair, maybe next update we’ll get one, I mean the JA37DI was added after player pressure when only the JA37DI F21 was added

Bring the VK 3002 (M), it’s a light tank disguised as a medium tank. Refer to my above statement about bringing a BR lower up. Panther D isnt that slow either. Sd.Kfz.234/2 can work too albeit to a lesser degree due to the worse gun performance, but Sd.Kfz.234/4 (if you have it) is the perfect replacement. Pz.Sfl.Ic is also a relatively cheap premium for those who can afford it.

I’m not saying I don’t want something fast and light like a Luchs, but the German military industry headed towards heavier vehicles nearing the end of the war, it’s part and parcel of IRL, unless you wanna turn back time to tell them to design something fast.

I asked for the BR range between 6.7-7.3 but sure ok, and also the T-55s and M60s are not exactly “fast” either, topping out only at 50kph and 48kph respectively while the Leopard 1 and DF105 are much faster, with the DF105 reload being significantly quick enough to disable T-55s and M60s before they could even shoot back.

okay cool, is it really a problem? it just means a different playstyle

america 4.0-6.0
ussr 2.3-5.3 then again 5.3-7.3
britan 4.7-6.7
japan 4.0-6.3
italy 4.0-6.0
israel 7.7-11.3

everyone has light tank gaps, youre not special

Poor reverser and turret rotation cant be used as light tank propertly.

Same than VK.

Move Puma to rank 3 can be a temporaly solution but not a fix.

We need a TT version asap. I dont know if USA have 3 Premiuns Hellcats and one TT variant why dont Germany cant get acces to a TT variant of PakPumaspecially when was a mass produced vehicle.

Yes i know but that dont change the fact why Germany dont have a stabilizer tank at that BR just like the others???

Because it was a very different doctrine post WW2? The Germans wanted something that can move fast at the cost of armour, so they sacrifice armour to have the ability to move around quick. Stabiliser technology at that time is also extremely heavy and added on to the weight. As what Circleati said, it’s a completely different play style.

To be clear, while I disagree with Bandit about this being an urgent problem or anything, and I do agree with you that there is largely a player problem, other than the M41 none of these options are really workable. The Luchs is terrible and the Wiesel is on an island with no lineup. The M41 is okay… I don’t get excited about it but it’s a functional utility/support vehicle I guess. But you’d have to be nuts to spawn the Panther at 6.7 imho. The Tiger IIs carry that entire lineup, and they are amazing, and I’m also a big fan of the Jagdtiger, but it is true that it’s less versatile than ideal. Compare it to the US lineup where, besides the heavies and the (a bit overtiered) M26, you have the M56 and the Ontos.

Still. This makes German 6.7 the second best 6.7 lineup in the game, way ahead of what most other nations have to offer.

And yeah you’re right I don’t get where stabs are supposed to factor into this.

Exactly. Ideally this would not be needed, and I’m sure eventually we’ll come to a point in WT history where these gaps have largely been eliminated, but minor nations get priority for sure because their need is greater.

They recently upped its weight, so not anymore. But yes, this is what I used to do until 6.0.

Yep. Even got a nuke with it once. There really should be a TT version.

Yeah. I unironically believe the real trouble with inexperienced German players is that the Panzer IVs teach them terrible habits (staying passive and not pushing). By the time they get to the 6.7 area they wouldn’t know how to properly play a competitive light tank anyway.

I think it’s possible, there have been discussions about it in separate threads going into possible suggestions, but not worth bringing them here, it gets a little off topic. In any case I’m just happy to see the Hummel come to the game.

Maybe I am nuts, but it works for me so I guess?

its great as a little scout anywhere from 7.7-8.3

Exist german tanks with Stab can be added for fill the game for example:

And this tank have more votes than Hummel just saying…

Yeah I was too hyperbolic, to each their own. The reason why I’d never consider doing it is that the late war Panthers are middle of the road in terms of mobility. On most maps the Tiger II Sla won’t be far behind them, especially if there’s any downhill section, while being better at literally everything else, not just armour or firepower but also targeting speed. Even the reload is the same unless you’re using the F.

If you’ve got to go with something that has no armour*, at that point might as well use the M41 or the JPz 4-5, is my reasoning. You get better mobility and things will one-shot you anyway.

Also while with the Panther gun you can still deal with T29s etc from the front, once you start getting into T32E1 or M103 territory, ehhh…

I dunno. I don’t feel Panthers are good enough to justify taking them up, I guess.

*EDIT: obviously I mean “no armour in relation to where you’re playing it”, the Panther’s protection is way behind the curve in a 6-7 - 7.7 lobby

Leopard 1A3 is fundamentally identical to the Leopard A1A1, which would have been the same BR anyway at 9.0, so functionally out of the question if you’re trying to have an 8.7 line up.

I honestly forgotten they nerfed the A’s mobility so yeah, my bad on that really. Still, I would bring the VK only because of its ability to go around the map fast (even after the weight nerf) and the slow turret traverse, to me anyway, is a mild inconvenience but mostly a non-issue since you’d be in position way ahead of most things by then. I’d still take the M41 for repositioning ofc but the VK is not the worst option.

I had such high hopes for the SPz when it came in the BP. I really thought it would complement the lineup well. Instead I found it incredibly underwhelming and now it’s 7.0 too lol. Shame

They nerf G, F too and Jagdpanther´s aswell. Tiger´s 2 and Jagdtiger suffered from movility nerfs too thats why im doing special emphasis in why Gaijin should give priority to movile fast vehicles over for examplein this case low rank SPG.
But agree Hummel is a cool adition and im happy for that people are going enjoy this tank despite his zero impact for improve the actual situation in German TT.
