HE and HEAT ricocheting off the ground is extremely uneralistic

These shells would absolutely not ricochet off the ground. Sure, perhaps APHE might, even SAP perhaps, but a round that is intended to be fired at the ground, from an extremely shallow angle, to neutralize enemy ground troops would absolutely explode on contact with the ground. Ricocheting off the ground would absolutely not happen. Especially considering the fuze sensitivity of HE shells in game is 0.1mm, which is the thickness of office copying paper. So considering that the ground is made of either mud, sand, concrete, or rock at the strongest it really gets, a shell going no slower than 500 m/s and weighing no less than 1.5 lbs hitting the ground at no shallower of an angle of 5°s. The ground would absolutely give way to it enough to trigger the fuze, that again in game is set to 0.1mm.

To put it another way, if a sheet of metal 100 microns thick, which is so thin that it would easily cut your finger, would crumple if you just sat on it, and which you could roll it into itself into the size of a cigarette with just your hands, to have it not explode with that fuze would mean that you would be able to shoot a round at that sheet, completely freestanding and have the round not rip a hole in it, which would be absolutely insane and ridiculous.

If you believe that something is wrong in the game then you can bug report it here (just search a bit first so that you don’t report something that is already reported and known about): (Gaijin.net // Issues)

A guide on how to report bugs can be found here: ([Navigation] Technical Knowledge Base | War Thunder Wiki)

Its not unrealistic, most of the HE-s even in the second world war had a delay fuse, and can be modified the fuse sensitivity, in real life its based on purpose how you set up your HE-s it can be easy triggered if it needed to and explode in a bush or can be hard triggered which means it only fuses when hit something very hard at a angle

Ok cool. But is that the fuzes that are used in game? Because last I checked, the same rounds that ricochet off of damn mud are triggered at a 1° glancing hit on a milk truck. So you saying “oh, fuzes existed that could have different pressures” But those aren’t the LITERALLY PAPER THIN triggers stated as being in the game. You’re being a contrarian and obtuse.

Don’t tell that to Germans or anyone else everyone else had ricochet fire (Abpraller) in their doctrine book.
Also I’m sure somebody can find the video of SPG firing HE round to Lada or something and it bounces off the roof.

Also US tankers even had page how to fire HE in urban setting trying to get it bounce and hit target behind corner. How well that work I have my doubts, but again proves that HE can be made to bounce off from different surfaces.

Again. This is unsupported by the fuze sensitivity stated in the game. The literally hair trigger fuze, stock in every HE round in the game. These rounds do NOT bounce off even a milk truck at the shallowest angle possible, but somehow can ricochet off of literal mud. I will say this again. A projectile can do that. But not with a fuze functioning as intended that is that light. And let me be very clear. You saying that it is possible also means nothing when in game, it ONLY ricochets off of any surface, even at 10° angles. They aren’t behaving as they would in reality, and to state that its possible that some he shells could ricochet off of the ground in the right circumstance makes me conclude that you didn’t read anything but the intentionally very simplistic summary of my actual thoughts and arguments, in the 10 word title.

Come on, your asking a lot from a company that has some shells that destroy everything (HE), others that are set off by a twig or a blade of grass (HEAT-FS), or helicopter ATGMS that can fly through an entire forest of trees to hit you.

Reminds me of the 190 guy xDDD

Anyways this time we do need a shattered shell (instead of shot) thing :D

I see how many youtube sponsorships they do, they’re swimming in it. Also, they literally ADDED the ground ricochet, which super overdid it for the HE.

I had 100mm APHE fuse on a car today, almost got me killed, love it sometimes.
