Hawk 200 - Does it need a loadout change?

We’ve gotten the correct FM now on the Hawk 200 and its a little… underwhelming for the BR.

It is almost certainly at 10.7 purely because it has 4x Aim-9Ls and so this raises a question. Would it be better served with different AAMs at a lower BR.

Especially when directly compared to airframes such as the Sea Harrier at the same/similar BR

So with that in mind, what loadout do you think it should get and what BR would you prefer to see it at?

What would you like to see the Aim-9L changed too?

  • Dont change them
  • Aim-9Gs
  • Aim-9P
  • Magic 1

If there are other loadout options, please let me know

What BR would you like to see this Hawk 200 balanced for?

  • 10.7
  • 10.3
  • 10.0
  • 9.7

10.0 with 4 aim9G… could be fun.

its similar to the A10 in being slow with cracked missiles. I think 10.0 for air as youre a worse hunter with amazing missiles. Give it maveric D and keep it at 10.7 for GRB.

it it was to get 9G it would have to be 9.3-7 as its worse than the harrier GR3 because its too damn slow.

keep it with the 9L

Given we cant even get the Buc S2B to 10.3 due to its 9Ls. Im thinking 10.0 is extremely unlikely if it kept 9Ls

Bucc gets no guns and horrible flight performance

The Hawk would benefit more from having magics or something at a slightly lower BR and having the 9Ls reserved for the variant with skyflashes

Having no D mavs is such a weird choice though

the bucc is faster and thats a significant advantage. the bucc is also a bomber so shouldnt really be fighter hunting. a (at least in game) fighter shouldnt pale in comparison to a bomber

Yeah that is my thinking

It is faster, but also has 2x 9Ls not 4 and no guns.

Which has the better handling… probably the hawk

After the first turn my money is on the bucc being better ngl. if youre free do you want to test this out in a custom? my hawk isnt spaded on dev as i didnt have the GE but its close enough to be a solid comparison

Maybe… Though at the same time, The Buc isnt gunna do anything in a rolling fight with 9Ls. They arent that good in WVR and the Hawk does have flares. The Hawk does have the guns .

In an actually match, Id just light the coals and runaway in the buc

maybe both at 10.3 then. both are a victim of bad compression rn

Yeah, that might stand a chance. But with so many hawk variants avaiable… I do wonder whether this one specifically needs to be the one with 9Ls

lower we can just have a gnat and then higher we have the radar hawk. radar hawk should be higher right? just from capabilities

Does it really perform worse than Sea Harrier? 💀

I was expecting something akin to Alpha jet here

I dont have first had experience with the Alpha Jet but I have heard its way worse FM now.

I flew it a couple games yesterday and it turns really well, IDK what to compare it to but Alpha jet is certainly no brick

Yesterday it had the AMX C&P placeholder FM and was slightly cracked

Today its got a corrected FM that apparently lines up to IRL docs within 5-6%

But is it brick-ish? I really want to know since I’m considering my options for finishing the GB tree

Its biggest issue is a leaf blower engine, which means it accelerates really really slowly.

So it might be okay in a rate fight if you can keep your energy up, but im not sure if it would actually be a practical gunfighter for that BR.

Which Is why I wonder if swapping the all-aspects for rear-aspects and dropping its BR down a bit might serve it better in the long run.

I’ve only done a few matches so far, but it doesnt seem practical to gunfight the bots at the moment, instead just sit at range and sling 9Ls.

Ah, I see.

Losing the 9Ls for a BR drop in air RB is a fair play, considering how nerfed the Limas are, they’re not worth their BR penalty at all

However I’d regret to see this lose the Mavericks, so hopefully ground BR can stay the same
