This may be a quite random post, but I’ve been wondering across the old and fabolous War Thunder soundtrack.
Tracks like “Ode to the T-34”, “Symphony of Steel”, “Brest Fortress Suite” or simply the old hangar themes almost brought tears to my eyes. They made me feel different, nostalgic, remembering how times were back then; staring at old steel and alluminium machines in hangar, all built for a single purpose which was war.
What we’ve got now is modern techno with low quality content that in my opinion fits the meme of “trying to make war look awesome” instead of the true tragedy it was. They barely focus on old stuff anymore and it feels to me like War Thunder has truly lost its essence, becoming nothing more than another cash grabbing game that’s trying to attract a public that in my opinion is not the right one.
So yeah it may be a bit cringe or ridiculous to read all this but does anyone feel similar?
It’s wild to me that they just dropped the actual banger of a cinematic “Dancing on the Edge” which focuses on ww2, korean war, and modern battlefields. They even made its phenomenal soundtrack the background theme, yet you say now it’s techno music lol.
In my opinion the game is the best it has ever been currently, and continues getting better with little improvements throughout the year, every year. I think you may be looking back with rose colored glasses.
The fact that developers have practically only been adding modern content affects lower tiers. There are many vehicles missing (some teased by Gaijin) but I guess it’s way more important to add “Leopard 2 Nº.14” or M44s for everyone.
Yeah the trailer’s good, but in my opinion nowhere close to “Victory is Ours” or even “The Battle is On”. Have you seen the old nation trailers or even the PlayStation launch trailer? Those ones really gave me goosebumps.
Yeah nobody can deny that as a company Gaijin is doing good, earning lots of profit. Still, many empty words they’ve said in the past are still haunting. Back in the day it did suck too with the endless grinding btw.
Recent maps are nothing more than 1 way slaughterhouses; March straight at the enemy and die because most flanking/sniping positions were blocked or removed.
Good graphics don’t mean a game’s good, but yes, War Thunder has excellent graphics, I give them that. Although some modern vehicles having WW2 crews or even other nation’s crews is a bit funny (ex: Belgian M44 having a French crew)
Like abysmal track traction or getting completely stopped just because you slightly touched a building or a rock…
Just like with graphics, that doesn’t make a game instantly good.
What I mean with low content is the endless copy paste of vehicles that does nothing but make the game boring. There’s 1 new and original vehicle for each 5 copied ones. It’s just a low effort (should’ve used that word to begin with, my bad) way of filling gaps.
The most recent map is a sniping fest map. Maps have more flanking routes today than they ever had a year ago.
Zero maps have had flanking routes removed, only added.
Maps that have gained flanking routes thanks to changes: Sands of Sinai, Sweden, etc.
Attention to detail =/= graphics.
Track traction is the best in the genre, and is getting worked on as we speak.
Copy-paste vehicles are uncommon, they are less than 25% of vehicle additions, they are less than 10% of the game’s total vehicles.
If you claim that M4A1 is copy-paste, then it’s obvious your posts are purely to provoke people.
And nobody said this. The M4, M4A1, M4A2, M4A3… All those are original. I’m talking about, for example, the M44, the Leopard 2, the T-72M1… Everyone gets them, it’s a waste.
I wish I could choose soundtracks for war thunder. I love the older tracks and would love to only listen to them in the game. Ive disabled music atp due to the annoying techno all the time…
@Unit_8
Leopard 2A5NL and T-72M1 are as unique as the M4A1.
2 of the 3? T-72M1s are entirely unique models, and the T-72A is an ancient model unique to its own.
At least you admitted your post is purely bait.
@Zahltag
Maybe you should play the game instead of antagonizing others:
Sands of Sinai and Sweden gained flanking routes. This is well known at this point.
