Fresh case, imagine that i was like 1mm to hit ammo carrousel and my shot just went through this Object 292 withotu any significant damage ? XD
Turns out that Russians developed fuel tanks that do not cause any spall, the west still behind this new technology.
Then u should look at t90m sometimes rounds will phase thought it without even disabling the autoloader
The Leopards have the same issue, but it’s less noticeable due to their size and location.
There you go implying all NATO tanks are Russian again; though this time it’s because fuel tanks correctly don’t spall.
@Just_Baron
Fuel tanks not generating spall is not an issue, that’s realism.
that applies to all fuel tanks
@_Ladies_Man_217
because turns out that liquids are pretty good at stopping/ slowing down shrapnel
I say issue because it can outright stop APFSDS with the Leopard’s fuel tank size, which isn’t enough.
that is just how gaijin modeled it so that they dont need to run a liquids simulation in real time to calculate damge
it is a simplefication for the sake of performance and for understanding
i think it is alot easier to explain to ppl that fuel tanks stop spall than giving a whole physics lecture on why spall gets stopped sometimes but othertimes not
The consumption of darts and speed at which they stop all spall is. Especially when Spall in-game can bypass modules like Engines and spawn after them.
Spall in-game cannot bypass modules.
Engines are brittle strong metal boxes, they spall IRL and in-game. Engines are likely the most spall-heavy item on any vehicle.
Spall does not spawn “after” other modules, it spawns on every instance where it should.
Please explain why the 10mm plate on the Merkava spalls like a 100mm one oh wise one.
People have already posted that information.
This is incorrect. Spall does go through some modules. If it did not, there would be a single wave of spall, unlike in this video.
That is showcasing a bug that occurred over two years ago.
One that I personally did not experience… it was 2023 so my Merkavas were in temporary retirement as I was playing air and other BRs and tech trees.
So that bug existed and was fixed between the times I played my Merkavas.
I still have a video of me shooting slightly angled premium AMX through it’s fuel tank. Spall got eaten completely and the only damage I caused was the fuel tank itself and the engine. Not a single crew got injured, let alone died.
So yeah, west definitely has this technology in hand.
you do realize western tanks don’t create spall either? it’s just they’re covered with additional armor inside which creates spall
This “bug” has never been fixed. It still occurs with every APFSDS shell that penetrates your engine compartment.
Don’t confidently say something if you’re unsure or not aware.
Merkava Double Spalling still exists, and it can vary wildly in damage.
I found the actual bug.
On the Merkava Mk3s [Mk4, Mk2, and Mk1 are all fine] there is no armor plate behind the engine?
Off center the spall hits the ammo box: 3D:
On center you get the bug with the Mk3s:
Thus the bug is there’s a hole in the armor for Merkava Mk3s.
I did not notice because I never get shot on the center line [where there’s the biggest gap] using my Mk3D, which explains why I never experienced the bug.
And the bug does not occur when shooting the idler wheel from an angle: More specifically the engine just does not spall; maybe due to too many layers?
The ones I’ve used: None have the bug.
straight up misinformation lmao, it slow down spall but it never reduce it to 0, why dont you back it up with a source if u claim it a part of “realism” and they work like that irl, curious to see which sources you use for that absurd claim
And you straight up misunderstood what I wrote,
