Honestly, I didn’t believe in Russia bias until recently, the whole Kh-38 ordeal, and how they seemingly ignored and closed the thread forever rid me of any doubt I had left. And now, with how poorly they have interpreted these new SAMs, and how they STILL allow Pantsir to absolutely humiliate these new SPAA’s is blatant favoritism on their part, zero doubts, there is also the GNSS buff to Kh-38ML which conveniently came with this update and gives Russia the only viable stand-off weapon in the game where they can engage these new SPAA from absolute safety, so literally, nothing changed gameplay wise for Su-30/34 spammers and top tier is still ruined.
They locked the topic and kept it so they could read more of it and take notes without more off-topic nonsense.
The new SPAA is vastly superior to Pantsir in every way. F&F is superior to SACLOS, and half of them have longer ranges.
Pantsir you can fly high against.
You can’t fly high against SLAMRAAM, Spyder, and SLM.
Granted, I do think the lack of evidence for Kh-38MT prior to the new SPAA should’ve warranted locking the loadout.
Time will tell if I still think that in another month.
You made a great post regardless. I understand your concerns.
man i love when my super duper state of the art missiles has less speed than MIM-72 and lose to a saclos guided missiles
and i love how they give the same max speed for everything to be 710m/s and 780m/s
i love how 150kg missiles has less speed than a 50kg missiles(MIM-146)
and i love how Pantsir has more range than all of them
Range wise the Pantsir still wins by a large margin, it stays above Mach 1 for at least 16 km, whereas SLM is already stalling at around 10 km, so nothing changed for Western SPAA effective range. Sure FnF nature of these missiles is vastly superior to SACLOS in close range but all it takes to defeat them is simply not flying within their effective range and weapons like Kh-38MT/ML still vastly outrange these new SAMs.
And now that we have air spawns that are further away, it gives CAS players more time to look for these radars, place a POI down, hit the deck and spam whatever missile/bomb from close range and just dunk on these systems, heck you can even mindlessly spam Kh-38MTs at them and you still come out on top.
The effective range of these new SAMs is what makes me believe in some type of bias and favoritism.
SLM is bugged then. I get the desire to compare bugged missiles to more correct missiles, but you shouldn’t.
You should acknowledge their bugged state for it’s honest and far more telling of issues.
SLM has a larger rocket motor than SLS for a reason after all.
You also forget Derby and SLAMRAAM, which should have less bugs as they have aircraft versions as well.
Honestly, I just hate how the devs are just not transparent about anything, ever. They could maybe come out and say “why we believe SLM has an effective range of 10 km” in a technical dev blog and make things a bit clearer or admit that they don’t have the necessary data to model these things and not rush weaponry that isn’t ready for the game yet, like it was for Kh-38, so it makes the devs and Gaijin as a whole have a clear favorite nation in their game.
It’s clear to anyone that this missile is underperforming badly, I was expecting at least 25 km or 20 km effective range and 30/40 km for a non maneuvering target, but 10 km is horrendously bad and won’t change much for any competent pilot.
The thing is they know the missile is underperforming and there is no way it has only 10 km range but if they make it realistic then russia wont be op so…
if they couldnt do it realistic then they could make the new spaas have the same performance as Pantsir S1 so everyone has an equal spaa, but nope, lets make it so Pantsir stills dominates hell yeah no favoritism at all
But they can make it realistic they just dont want to

And I don’t expect people to bother with these new AAs either, Gaijin expects players to first spawn them, manage 2 or 3 vehicles at once, then sit on spawn and do nothing but die to a tank anyway because maps don’t even allow for these AA’s to be effective in the first place.
As for the Pantsir effectiveness, it is still the only AA that can intercept multiple munitions at once, as well as engage any plane at any distance and keep any plane within 10 km away from the battlefield, of course a competent CAS player can outsmart and evade any Pantsir, but there is still the undeniable fact it is still the best overall SPAA in the game and it looks like it will continue to be so for the time being.
OKay I think I will skip this major update and wait for the next one. This update should make Russian SU players feel frustrated and their Pantsit become useless instead.
Don’t forget that Pantsir has these multi barreled AA guns on top, which makes it absolutely op compared to the new SAMs. Pantsir’s missile is far better, the handling of the truck is much better, it has deadly guns to kill tanks and close air targets. Its just not fair and I don’t get how these hard to handle multi vehicle monsters can’t at least have a better missile than S1.
Ok, the new SPAAs are done, now lets talk about how the never finished Sovetskiy Soyuz suddenly makes the ingame Ru the strongest naval faction …
Diehl Defence chief program officer for Iris-T states 40km range / 20km height for SLM in an interview (Airpower 2024 ). Ingame it starts falling out of the sky after 10-12 km. How can Devs be that wrong?
Likewise, but even if you didn’t have to bother with having to cohabitate with tanks, the simplistic nature of WT means that even modern AA systems will only ever be about managing target parameters to get a decent launch. Even if there was parity in capability between CAS and AA, there is no way to turn it into engaging gameplay.
I myself purely dabble in AA systems out of spite rather than proper interest in the thing.
Unfortunately, since the Pantsir is the upper limit of what the average CAS player is able to cope with, you won’t really see better AA systems until they get better.
Oh, they closed the 38MT thread?
I was preoccupied due to their Redditors so I missed that. It’s not surprising, though, but it is another mark on the board for examples of Russian Bias. The GNSS buff is also another mark on the board.
It really is just too hard for them to be honest and fair with the game, even after all these years.
Then why don’t you just leave the game and go play a game that your country made?
What makes you think I don’t already play other games that are made by US-born devs, hmm? You don’t know my Steam or Xbox libraries, after all.
As for leaving the game; After you.
38MT doen’t benefit from GNSS
Wondering if you had played red alert 2 lol
Obviously, because it’s not for the 38MT. It does benefit the 38ML, which is still a Russian armament fielded by Russia in the game.
What I stated prior still carries complete fact.
