lol the bmp 3? one of the strongest light tanks in game? unless your talking about top tier then yeah but why would a 9.0 light tank be good at 12.0? the puma is 11.0
and its main gun struggles to pen the flat sides of russian tanks point blank, the spikes are inconsistent af and do critical damage 1/4 times. which is cool cause you only do get 4 of them. trying to get them to lock tanks that are standing completely in the open does get you killed more often then not. AHEAD ammo is just a bait so you start shooting at flying things to tell them where you are. The only thing it is good for is baiting snapshots into your turret so then you allies can peek and kill the enemy.
If it was russian it had proxy fuze shells that actually work ahem ahem 2s38 but unfortunaly it is not. while apparently also using ammo similar to ahead irl the 2s38 gets proxy fuze ammo which kills in one to two shots and the puma is using whatever the AHEAD ammo in game is supposed to be…a tickler?
2s38 can kill any tank reliably from the front from any range. Puma cant do it point blank from the side. or at least it takes you like 20 seconds hammering their sides until all crew is dead or the ammo finally decides it actually has explosive propellant. 20 s which you usually never have in top tier

It is good but at 9.0 there also a good amount of good IFV. Especially considering the size of BMP-3.
Sound like cap but sure , it is an IFV. What do you want it to do ? Easily one shot MBT from the side ? One shotting one of the better armored MBT from the side ?

Errr no , even at long range it is still spamming shell and hoping for the best. Which is applied to literally any IFV and if you struggle to kill MBT from the side with PUMA then idk man , maybe change to MBT ? There reason why MBT are higher BR
If it take you 20s then I suggest you should not touch IFV. If you get a drop on MBT and in the first 3 second you haven’t taken their main gun out then might as well retire. 20s to kill something from the side. Lord bless this man, he forgot that he have to aim
For China I grinded it with the WMA and just ran that and the heli, grinded that forever till I had lineups but the Heli line is really hard to grind now without spending a lot of GE on modifications, both the Z9W and Z9WA are absolutely useless without their best stuff, the Z9W being at such a high br it’s only viable weapons are the TY-90’s, I got lucky and did the grind before they all got sent to higher br’s

Go to its test drive and shoot the abrams at its turret ring weakspot or better the one underneath the gun. every shell lands at exactly the same spot and every shell will pen there. do that with the puma. at 0.7 br lower. its rounds go all over its place cause of the accuracy that is miles better irl. and then your gun overheats which like…pretty sure thats accurate or whatever. It’s just a misery of a tank in game.
Obviously you will need to shoot their weakspots also with the 2s38 which at range is not the easiest but at least there is something you can do. At range obviously not every tank shouldbe one pen deaths from the front to your autocannon light tank otherwise why use 120 mm guns at all?
But in the puma you can spam all your spikes at one tank that needs to go (with reload in between) and probably take out one crew, disable its gun if your lucky or even kill one or just retreat and have the same trouble with the next tank in the next lane of 3 lanes on every map.
where did i say that’s the russian (whoever that is do you know him) fault? i just said thats how it is in game? Now should they one shot everything they lock on to every time? sure not, how crap would that gameplay be? 4 guaranteed hull down kills would be dumb af in this game. but they literally do absolutely nothing 90 % of the time, which is just awesome when at least 50% of the maps are cqc brawlfests and a lot of times when you commit you have to make sure you kill the thing youre targeting or you die yourself.
True the damage on flying stuff might just be to the bigger caliber and in relation bigget he equivalent on the 2s38, it’s still kinda baffling that gaijin went to the lengths of actually coding a completely new ammo type for the PUMA which barely does anything to the stuff it was designed for, aerial targets. I mean, why bother? If the 2s38 uses AHEAD irl but uses proxy he in game even after AHEAD was put in game, why not just slap proxy he on the puma and call it quits? Cause that would be reliable or what?
yeah try take an mbts main gun with the pumas overheating gun with skewed accuracy (cause im sure thats how it performs irl and it’s not one of the vehicles with the most bug reports) when hes wiggling it and not straight looking at you in disbelief without moving it. gl. you only need to score like 5-10 hits on the tip. 20 seconds from the side is probably an overestimation tbf. your gun is overheating way before that which is hilarious enough in itself.
but don’t worry i still manage a 1-1 kd in this sorry state of a tank, but it being absolutely fine in comparison is probably verified by basically every contentcreator that ive ever watched going on about nothing else but how bad it is and that theres absolutely 0 people talking about how busted the 2s38 is.

Thank you for admiting, that this light tank have to aim through weakspots to fight MBTs, as all other light tanks have to do and that it is not a reliable way fight MBTs from the front.

How is that not reliable? you hit its weakspot and you pen it. reliably. would you say a leo 2a7 cant kill a t80bvm from the front reliably because he has to shoot its lfp? if thats the case then no tank can kill anything in game reliably and im not sure what we’re all doing here? everything has to shoot for weakspots otherwise the damage and armor models would be pointless.
having to aim for weakspots has nothing to do with how reliable you can take it out. just with your aim?
The Puma on the other hand cant take out stuff reliably (at least russian ones) from the side. from the front you can only annoy them. gun to inaccurate to hit the gun or tracks (reliably) and 0 spots you can pen. Maybe i should just change the playstile to farming assists? drive to russian mbts sides, disable everything, leave their pityful husk to repair for 45 seconds and drive off? Or wait till they extinguished 2 engine fires?

Hate? I’m just spading it as first spawn atm, and since it basically has no lineup at 11.0 i play it at 12.0. I’m having decent fun with it. It’s effectiveness is just about 0. Which yeah I admit is infuriating considering what you can do with good light tanks. and then you get KH38 spammed.
Having read through the PUMA thread which is one of the biggest threads for vehicle changes in this forum i believe, well I’m too realistic im not the chosen one of all those people to make the snail care about it lol.

I wouldnt say i hate it just because it works. Its just a virtual tank man? But its kinda funny what it can do at 10.3 while worse light tanks are at 12.0 or higher.
And those two sentences imo don’t contradict each other? I don’t have to be doom slayer every match to have fun. While I can be doom slayer making the fun you have in game dependent on whether or not you can kill 10 enemies in a not-so-good tank wouldnt be exactly smart. cuz 90% of times it doesnt work out. But maybe it could like deal damage at 90 degrees point blank to a russian mbts side before its gun overheats?
I can also use other examples for good light tanks from other nations to compare it too if that floats your boat.
