Happy Birthday to my oldest Sim bug report

Has it really been four years?

Yes, it’s STILL broken.

https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/56hPc6E38tIw

I expect it will be accepted once it turns five, and maybe fixed in… 2030?

any chance @Gunjob could work some magic?

If you have questions about reporting bugs or a specific bug report then you can send a private message to one of the Technical Moderators. You can find all the teams and the areas they handle listed here: (Who is who and Reporting Procedure). If you don’t get an answer within a few days you can add more moderators from the list to the original message instead of sending a new message (that way you preserve the date of the message and it doesn’t look like a new request), adding one of the moderators to the message every 2-3 days or so until you get an answer.

Please do not to add the seniors until you have tried all other regular moderators, the Seniors likely won’t answer unless they are added and pinged by the regular moderators but if you’ve added all the regular moderators with no answer then you can add the seniors.

The interesting thing here is that you can see how many people click on the link to the bug report… but no one actually upvotes it…

20+ clicks and still on only 9 upvotes… which is was yesterday.

16 moderators means I might be waiting a month for something to happen… /sigh

plus the four years already…

Especially since the last time I checked the -MOD- squadron listings, no one plays sim and no one plays helicopters…

edit : 60 clicks and 3 more ‘upvotes’! :/

It isn’t an “upvote” button… It’s an “I have the same issue” button. Meaning that players that don’t experience the bug won’t (and shouldn’t) click it. It’s there for the DEV’s to get some idea of how widespread an issue is and how large part of the player base is effected.

@Schindibee might want to disagree with that statement lol x)

Thats not a bug though, surely it needs to be posted as a proper forum suggestion

He’s not a tech mod though…

I wish he was :(

he might play sim, but he doesn’t play helicopters…

Not a bug?

The ‘request location of allies’ button used to work…

and then…

it didn’t.

Suggestion : Please make the ‘request location of allies’ button work.

Is that your solution?

In general have not played a lot of Sim Ground, correct.

Also correct.

My recommendation would be to contact a Tech Mod and ask, or to submit a new version of the report. I also got some mumified bug reports, my oldest ones 3 years old…

  • Mi-35P — a bug that prevented the cockpit fan from rotating has been fixed. (Report).

Yeah… or they could just keep fixing ‘bugs’ that have no impact on the game but are seemingly only addressed because they’re submitted in Russian for Russian vehicles… Even the submitter didn’t ‘upvote’ this :(

After 100+ bug submissions the way Gaijin handles what gets fixed and what doesn’t is probably the most frustrating aspect of Warthunder.

They should have a professional team…

and YOU should be getting paid too!

not enough

Honestly the bug report forum is just tragic things that are just clearly from the title alone not a bug report will get addressed by the moderators but then things that are a well written and apparent bug reports just kind of end up getting ignored or written off, it also seems like their isnt a whole lot of agreement of what counts as what for sources and what is or isnt a bug but belongs to another department. For example a suggestion for a change to a vehicle submitted as a bug report will half the time get approved or looked at and half the time they just get told to post it here in the suggestions forums instead. Or a something that appears to be happening more often Moderators from other languages denying a bug report that in english and vice versa which how is an english user supposed to know what he needs to add to the report or do with it when the response is in russian a language the reporter doesn’t speak. There also is an issue of the mods seeming to not really read whats being reported to begin with people will be reporting issues with a game mechanic and get told they need an OEM or other primary source? For what its a in game mechanic like a control binding not working or a radar displaying ghost pings, it by default can’t have an OEM. Idk kind of an off topic rant I suppose but I can’t make my own post to talk about it.

I had a VR bug that was an obvious graphical glitch shown with a video… if you used VR you saw it 100% of the time… but of course Knights doesn’t use VR so we have the ‘update drivers, remove cache, reboot’ roundabout with a week between comments from him.

30 upvotes and a dozen comments from people with the same issue…

‘is this still an issue?? your clog file is no longer relevant please send a new one’…

then it was 60 upvotes and 20 comments and more videos needed before he acknowledged it…

I think it took 3 months… and then 2 more months to fix… so months of constant fucked up shadows…

But a non working fan in a squadron helicopter that no one owns?

‘we’ll get right on it!’

Something is clearly wrong here…

But it costs the devs no silver, or time, per every team kill because your team mate decided to be lazy, or doesn’t speak your same language, so you, thinking they are an enemy jet in sim, accidentally tk. Not that you tried to communicate it or anything.

And that’s the problem. Nobody communicates most of the time. Some planes have no radar period or a IFF to identify.

At the very least, it shouldn’t cost the player who asked 3 times to ident. And it shouldn’t reflect upon them because someone was lazy or whatever the case may be.

In real life, radio contact is usually held with pilots to communicate whether or not friend or foe, if other means fail.

Yeah it’s really bad what I was specifically referring to earlier and you can probably go on the forums and find it really quickly right now is currently the IRST missiles if they lock a target, then loose lock and then relock back onto the target using the radar lock the missile will still use IOG or the seeker head itself if it has locked onto something instead of going back to being guided by the radar like most other data link missiles in game do. This is an issue of the Data Link feature in game not working on a missile as intended, however they keep requesting a primary source for this and then closing out the report. Its not trying to say the IRST is missing a feature it has in real life its saying a feature it has in game isn’t working as it should. This Clearly shouldn’t require a primary source. Or the type ten in which they won’t fix the issues with its suspension and transmission because nobody will give them a primary source, but the issue is the tank has zero weight affect on the suspension causing it to over turn and loose all its speed from any slight movement they also wont accept anyone showing them the issue in the coding as its datamined material. This shouldn’t require an OEM its should be common sense that a 40 ton tank should be exerting some amount of weight on its suspension. Legit went on right now one of like four things addressed is “Immersion Breaking issues with profile pictures” which from the title alone is clear its not a bug report. But then all the actual bugs like aircraft firing through itself or “one of the buildings is floating off the ground” hasn’t been addressed.

Maybe try to DM @Piciu713 ? He usually respond in few days.

Hello M735?

Steps to reproduce :

Start custom sim game

Spawn helicopter

Use ATGM view on enemy tank

Press broken button.

My button is set to my zoom key and ‘fire atgm’ key, so pressed about 100 times a game…

Occasionally it DOES work! As in I get a ‘Allies at coordinates’ message on screen, but ONLY for enemies… so not only is it broken 99% of the time, the 1% it does work its WRONG!
