Like MSFS how you switch the engine on via fuel pump, ignition etc?
Yes, something like that or DCS. For sure, it should be optional.
Doesnt really make a lot of sense unless you are also get pulled out of the hangar by a tug. Spawning on the ramp makes more sense as you would actually start your engine there IRL
Good idea. I once created a similar task, but I couldn’t manage to make the planes spawn in the correct direction. They might point towards the walls or other places.
Compared to for example IL-2 Great Battles, the ground movement for planes feels very floaty and not really like you are on the ground. I’m not the best at explaining things tho.
In that game I have a lot of fun taxiing around before take off, both in the Combat Box server as in the Finnish Virtual Pilots, so it’s not for me not wanting it in the game.
Unnecessary complex, long and hard feature.
Collision and guidance and profit so no/
Taxying from the tarmac to the runway is considered complex and hard?
Oh, boy, no wonder a majority of players is not even able to land without destroying their aircraft… ;-)
I think if anything like this is added, it should be optional. Like in MSFS for example: if there you select to spawn on a runway, you are ready for take off with engines running, and if you select to spawn on a parking spot, you spawn cold&dark.
Come to think of it, it’s actually quite unneccessary to spawn in Sim in WT with engines off and canopy open. First thing you do is press the two buttons to start engine and close the canopy. It’s just an “excuse” for hinting at a “deeper” level of gameplay with no real consequence. Adding the (optional) possibility to inrease the immersion factor and be able to spawn not on the runway would at least also give those two keystrokes a moderate reason to exist.
Yeah tell me how planes like the me163 or bombers are going to get out and in to the hangars?? Me163 and some hydro planes cant even do that, and you think Gaijin its going to add hangars of many sizes to bombers and fighters?? In a average lets say 10vs10 you would need at least 10 hangars big enough to house bombers with the size of a bv238 or b29.
Well if you want to be optional its your deal, live and let live I guess.
Of course there are exceptions, obviously, but those should not hinder the implementation of such a feature, especially as it’s optional. It would also be possible to activate this feature for aircraft where it is not practicable or possible. Afaik you also can’t spawn a hydroplane on a runway, no?
How often do you spawn in Sim with 10 bombers spawning at the same airfield? I play only 9.7 up, so don’t know if that’s a thing at lower tiers, but it for sure could also be solved by spawning late joining players on the runway like now, if all suitable parking spots are currently full.
Then we overhaul the airfield…
I.e 1.0 is the same dirt track, 6.7 is a semi tarmac airfield and 8.7+ is a large airfield with enough room for B52 and TU-95
@Schindibee i agree… how does everyone argue that taxiing is too hard… yes i now know why people keep crashing
Practically never… I mean never, unless you have a large setup there is no point laying something like the B29 etc as you can only use manual SAS, trim can be used but it’s annoying to deal with tbh
No kidding Sherlock, like a hydroplane is going to taxi on the runway, they either have landing gear like the Catalina and taxi or they don’t like the BV238 and get an air spawn or a water strip
… you telling me that 100% of all sim players fly large bombers… again THIS IS AN OPTIONAL IDEA, plus the airfield isn’t suitable for the B52 because it takes the whole runway, I tried taxiing it but it’s too big, rework the runways and airfield
Nice idea for the wrong game imo
