They do not give exact dates until the patch is ready to go live.

Major updates for this game are usually released about half a month to a month after the dev logs start being posted. An exact date has never been announced, but if you just wait, it’ll come eventually.

I’m pretty sure they have people working on the updates non-stop, just search the “what we are working on” posts, but even when the Dev server becomes available they will not give a release date for the patch because if it gets delayed people get upset, just look at the SL crates and the people harassing them about that.
They will announce it going live the day it will be going live and will not confirm a date before that.

Yes, pretty much, we can guess at the rough times based of when they release the update trailed, the dev servers closing etc. but we only know the exact date the day it drops and they announce the servers going down for the update.

DEV Live Stream

DEV server opens to the public

↓

DEV server closes

↓

Update released

It goes something like this.

The problem is that the period between the release of the teaser and the closure of the DEV server is long. Sometimes, the DEV server reopens after it has been closed.

Yep, very subject to what bugs they find and how long they take to fix and re-test, it might all go smoothly and they release quickly or they may run into major bugs and have to do several rounds of testing.
