Yes and no, i’m wrting up a paragrah on my own opinions and asking AI to slighty re-phrase and check grammer. ( i don’t think this is a crime is it ?)
T-72AV (Turms-T)
While it’s true that the T-72AV (Turms-T) doesn’t have the best armor i agree, but it’s not entirely without merit. The thermal sight upgrade can be a game-changer in certain situations, providing enhanced target acquisition. It might not be the most versatile, but it’s not necessarily a scam either; it depends on how you use it and in what scenarios.
2S38
Yes, the 2S38 isn’t known for its speed, but its ability to engage both ground and air targets is a significant advantage. The high-caliber autocannon adds a unique tactical element, and while the BMP-3 platform has its drawbacks, it also has a proven track record of reliability in various conditions.
T-55AM-1
While the T-55AM-1 may not be ideal for those looking to progress through the entire USSR tech tree, it still has its strengths. The armor is notably better than some might give it credit for, and the vehicle’s overall cost-effectiveness can be beneficial for players who are more budget-conscious or prefer mid-tier gameplay.
T-80UD
The T-80UD is indeed a solid choice with its good armor and mobility. However, it’s important to note that all vehicles have their pros and cons, and what’s best can often be subjective based on personal play style and preference.
The T-80UD might not always outperform others in every scenario, but it does offer a reliable balance of characteristics.
War Thunder’s map is small enough at a point thermal imaging devices is pretty much useless, except when someone uses the ESS + thermals trick, only having decent gun handling, which T-72AV (Turms-T) doesn’t have and a laser rangefinding device is more than enough, and the T-80UD has it plus decent armor.
Having around 23.3 hp/t is a good sign that the vehicle has a bad acceleration, but the top speed is no special, most late soviet designs are capped to 70 km/h forward.
But the OP is asking for something to go through the entirety, why would he bought a vehicle that’s not fully efficient to research all ranks? Either T-80UD or T-80U-E1.
Obviously every vehicle has pros and cons, but if you compare to any other option, T-80UD stands out for more confortable BR than the T-80U-E1, better armor than the T-72AV (Turms-T) and 2S38 just worse mobility in the acceleration subject than the 2S38, in general, except by targetting air vehicles, T-80UD easily outperforms the other vehicles,
The only problem with 10.3 premium vehicles is the fact that it constantly faces 11.3 vehicles e.g. Type 90 (B) ‘Fuji’.
Dumb logic. You don’t need a premium to research the whole tree. Just one good enough to get you a very good lineup. AM-1 will get you a good lineup around 8.3-8.7 that’s all you need. You can tech-tree vehicle from there on out.
Ur kidding right? It has terrible mobility for a light tank and one of the worst gun depressions in this game. For it’s gun, the APHE round is amazing but you can’t pen most MBT’s with it, have to flank but the prior mentioned bad mobility and depression makes it very difficult to flank. Imo it’s a flawed vehicle and should have never been added to the game, it’s both annoying to face and to play.
BMP-2M at the same BR is better in almost every way, it has ATGM so you can actually engage enemies from the front, has better hp/t so it’s faster, with it’s gun it fires faster and quieter, not giving away your position and it’s smaller in size too.
Best grinder is the T-55AM1 as I have heard but you can’t grind higher tiers with it, skip the 2S38 and TURMS, both are bad for their BR, if you don’t wanna play top tier, buy the T-80UD, if you’re ok with playing against Leopard 2A7’s and CAS spam with matches ending in 5 minutes, then T-80UE-1 is great too.
I don’t know you are joking or not but if you look at the forum when a lot of people complain about 2S38 that Gaijin increase the BR for that light tank.
good luck fighting against fast Leopards and Abrams with no armor, 7.1 reload and 4km reverse. That thing is just way worse T-80UD on every way except having thermals.
How’s a vehicle OP when it can’t front pen most MBT’s it faces and it takes 10-15 seconds to kill a singular target. You stand no chance against single fire vehicles unless they’re bad and mess up their shot. And for flanking I already told how bad it’s at with bad mobility, big size and horrible depression.
I’d rather be in 2S25M or BMP-2M in any day over the 2S38, it’s the only premium I regret buying.
It easily pens everything and one shots most of them.
It can spray pray constantly as it never has to reload or even wait for overheat.
IRST and Prox fuse rounds make it good even vs CAS
Insert any vehicle here. At that BR almost nothing can soak more than 1 hit. Though most soviet tanks you have to aim for Pixels where everyone else you just have to hit.
Though the crewless turret makes you very good in hulldown
Still far smaller and faster than most of its competition.
I’m not comparing it to the BMP-2M. I’m simply stating it isn’t a bad vehicle. You also reveal your mindset towards this game by not even mentioning the utility of the 2S38 against both air and helicopters. Stick to your MBTs, bro. Let those wanting to support the team do so.
I may not have ever played it, But I know for a fact that the Challenger 1 and 2 are one shot by it at literally any angle and compared to vehicles like the Desert Warrior, its massively better.
Oh wait, you never played any of them, you’ve only played US and USSR and so wouldnt know how 8/10 nations actually perform against it
Given the fact it is ALWAYS the most heavily requested vehicle to get a BR increase. Clearly its too good at the current BR
Zero premiums are OP.
The most user-friendly is the T-80UE1.
The hardest is T-55AM1.
The most divergent playstyle is the 2S38, avoid getting it if you’ve never played the playstyle before.
T-72AV is easier than 2S38 and T55AM1 to use and learn due to its thermal solution and optics.
