I ask for help, I have the su27sm and I wanted to upgrade the Russian tanks! I’ve played t90m and t80bvm on my friend’s account and other tanks, but I liked the t80 line better, like the t80bv too, I wanted to at least level up to rank 7, I loved the t64bv! I wanted to know which Premium is more op in BR like 2s38, t72av, t55am1. t80ue1 you are stuck in 11.7 and you don’t have such a good vertical in this case the speed of the cannon! t80ud was nerfed in hp/Ton and armor, turmst was buffed! WHICH DO I GET: T72AV, 2S38 or T55AM1?
I Haver Challenger 2 LINE!
I understand you’re looking for the best premium tank to upgrade your Russian lineup…
Given your experience with the T80BVM and T64BV, it sounds like you’re aiming for something versatile and powerful.
Here’s a quick comparison that i feel will help you decide:
T72AV: This tank has good firepower and armor, making it a solid choice for higher BR battles. It’s a bit slower but offers great versatility.
2S38: Known for its excellent mobility and powerful gun, this tank is great for quickly repositioning and dealing with various targets.
T55AM1: This tank has good survivability and a powerful missile system, making it effective against helicopters and lighter vehicles.
Considering your preference for the T80 line, the T72AV might be the best fit as it offers a good balance of firepower, armor, and versatility. However, if you prefer faster gameplay and repositioning, the 2S38 could be a great choice.
Ultimately, it depends on your playstyle and what you enjoy most in the game, let me know your thoughts…
Its mobility is worse than some MBTs it faces.
I’d recommend getting a tank VII or rank VIII, because that way it can research the whole tree
The 2S38 has incredible mobility, which makes it a formidable vehicle on the battlefield.
With the 2S38 being a premium its already spaded gives each upgrade improves different aspects of the vehicle, such as acceleration, turning speed, and firing accuracy, making it even more effective.
Additionally, assigning an Elite Crew to the 2S38 can make a significant difference. Elite Crews have increased experience and proficiency, leading to faster reload times, better gun handling, and quicker repairs. Combining a fully upgraded vehicle with an Elite Crew can elevate the 2S38’s capabilities to a whole new level, on top of this i would suggest you get a few backups for it, even after you use the 30 given to you when purchased.
For many players facing the 2S38, its speed and agility can be a real challenge.
It’s essential to leverage its mobility to outflank enemies, avoid direct confrontations with heavily armored tanks, and use hit-and-run tactics. Staying on the move and using cover effectively can help maximize the 2S38’s potential and make it a real headache for opponents.
Overall, investing in upgrades and an Elite Crew for the 2S38 can turn it into a highly versatile and powerful vehicle, capable of dominating the battlefield.
If it were up to me, I’d choose the 2S38. I remember when I first encountered it, it was a significant challenge for quite some time.
Are you using AI for those replies?
T-72AV (Turms-T) has no good armor, the firepower is the same for any other Soviet/Russian vehicle, it’s not a good option because having worse raw armor stats than the T-72A is no good, it’s not versatile, while having a sluggish gun handling, it’s easily outperformed by the T-80UD;
2S38 is not know for its “excellent mobility”, but the fact it’s the single high caliber auto cannon in the USSR tech tree, and capacity of targetting either ground and air targets and that’s it, as it’s based on the BMP-3s platform, the vehicle is naturally slow and on top of that heavier,
The T-55AM-1 is useless when someone wants to research all the USSR tech tree, I only recommend this vehicle as gameplay-only or if the goal is only the mid tier, as any other medium Soviet vehicle the survivability is completely non existant, but the armor is a point to note, the “powerful missile system” is nothing powerful, you can’t easily target hovering helicopters and the capacity of engage targets is also impaired when compared to the 3BM25.
The best option is the T-80UD as it has armor to sustain most of the shots at its BR range, decent mobility but equally worse gun handling, the 2S38 should be taken as a secondary vehicle, the T-72AV (Turms-T) just need to be completely removed from sale, it’s a scam.
Yes he is.
Yes and no, i’m wrting up a paragrah on my own opinions and asking AI to slighty re-phrase and check grammer. ( i don’t think this is a crime is it ?)
T-72AV (Turms-T)
While it’s true that the T-72AV (Turms-T) doesn’t have the best armor i agree, but it’s not entirely without merit. The thermal sight upgrade can be a game-changer in certain situations, providing enhanced target acquisition. It might not be the most versatile, but it’s not necessarily a scam either; it depends on how you use it and in what scenarios.
2S38
Yes, the 2S38 isn’t known for its speed, but its ability to engage both ground and air targets is a significant advantage. The high-caliber autocannon adds a unique tactical element, and while the BMP-3 platform has its drawbacks, it also has a proven track record of reliability in various conditions.
T-55AM-1
While the T-55AM-1 may not be ideal for those looking to progress through the entire USSR tech tree, it still has its strengths. The armor is notably better than some might give it credit for, and the vehicle’s overall cost-effectiveness can be beneficial for players who are more budget-conscious or prefer mid-tier gameplay.
T-80UD
The T-80UD is indeed a solid choice with its good armor and mobility. However, it’s important to note that all vehicles have their pros and cons, and what’s best can often be subjective based on personal play style and preference.
The T-80UD might not always outperform others in every scenario, but it does offer a reliable balance of characteristics.
War Thunder’s map is small enough at a point thermal imaging devices is pretty much useless, except when someone uses the ESS + thermals trick, only having decent gun handling, which T-72AV (Turms-T) doesn’t have and a laser rangefinding device is more than enough, and the T-80UD has it plus decent armor.
Having around 23.3 hp/t is a good sign that the vehicle has a bad acceleration, but the top speed is no special, most late soviet designs are capped to 70 km/h forward.
But the OP is asking for something to go through the entirety, why would he bought a vehicle that’s not fully efficient to research all ranks? Either T-80UD or T-80U-E1.
Obviously every vehicle has pros and cons, but if you compare to any other option, T-80UD stands out for more confortable BR than the T-80U-E1, better armor than the T-72AV (Turms-T) and 2S38 just worse mobility in the acceleration subject than the 2S38, in general, except by targetting air vehicles, T-80UD easily outperforms the other vehicles,
The only problem with 10.3 premium vehicles is the fact that it constantly faces 11.3 vehicles e.g. Type 90 (B) ‘Fuji’.
T-80UD/T-80UE-1
Spoiler
An error occurred: Body seems unclear, is it a complete sentence?
T-72AV is abysmal. Don’t get it.
T-80UD and 2S38 are worth it.
The T-55AM1 is also amazing but it cannot research up to rank 8.
The T-72AV is become totall joke now the premium T-80U-E1 came out with better stats and weapon preform much better then T-72AV.
T-55AM is good prem verhicle it give worth your golden eagles and still beat must tanks in its rank.
2S38 is good solid verhicle against other op verhicles in his br and secondary role as spaa without radar against low flying helicopter/planes.
Dumb logic. You don’t need a premium to research the whole tree. Just one good enough to get you a very good lineup. AM-1 will get you a good lineup around 8.3-8.7 that’s all you need. You can tech-tree vehicle from there on out.
This is what I used to get me started with USSR:
Wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Ur kidding right? It has terrible mobility for a light tank and one of the worst gun depressions in this game. For it’s gun, the APHE round is amazing but you can’t pen most MBT’s with it, have to flank but the prior mentioned bad mobility and depression makes it very difficult to flank. Imo it’s a flawed vehicle and should have never been added to the game, it’s both annoying to face and to play.
BMP-2M at the same BR is better in almost every way, it has ATGM so you can actually engage enemies from the front, has better hp/t so it’s faster, with it’s gun it fires faster and quieter, not giving away your position and it’s smaller in size too.
Best grinder is the T-55AM1 as I have heard but you can’t grind higher tiers with it, skip the 2S38 and TURMS, both are bad for their BR, if you don’t wanna play top tier, buy the T-80UD, if you’re ok with playing against Leopard 2A7’s and CAS spam with matches ending in 5 minutes, then T-80UE-1 is great too.
I don’t know you are joking or not but if you look at the forum when a lot of people complain about 2S38 that Gaijin increase the BR for that light tank.
Only thing bad about either of these are the people that drive them.
good luck fighting against fast Leopards and Abrams with no armor, 7.1 reload and 4km reverse. That thing is just way worse T-80UD on every way except having thermals.
2S38 is OP as hell. The entire community wants it moved to 11.0+ but Gaijin refuses to do so
How’s a vehicle OP when it can’t front pen most MBT’s it faces and it takes 10-15 seconds to kill a singular target. You stand no chance against single fire vehicles unless they’re bad and mess up their shot. And for flanking I already told how bad it’s at with bad mobility, big size and horrible depression.
I’d rather be in 2S25M or BMP-2M in any day over the 2S38, it’s the only premium I regret buying.
