Grumman F-14D Super Tomcat - End of a Legendary Era

Can 14d use lightening or is it stuck with lantern pod

Just Lantirn. With a large display (12x12) though so great resolution.

the D used lantirn, iirc the proposed quickstrike package was going to have litening integration

Why couldn’t the f14 carry jdams like the dumb bombs?

Spoiler

something to do with the computers passing info to the bombs themselves, instead of just basic hooks to hold the bombs on

Separation issues mostly. The F-14 was a pretty inaccurate dumb bomber because of this.

I’m contacting to the guy who has this “unofficial” manual.

Even if they possessed all NAVAIR manuals, some explanations were still missing, and some squadrons created their own unofficial manuals to supplement them.

it’s not an upgrade to pheonix it’s new builds.

@EDDIEGT which bit of implimentation?

@ItzMikeyzWRLD-psn what kind of notch rejection is there? and RAM modes? did the IRST come with LRF

@warthogboy09 it was an AWG-9 dish not a scaled up APG-70 dish

For the Fakour? We know basically nothing.

for the F-14D

the what?

Oh, the Notch Rejection is pretty good. Around + or – 80 knots iirc.

Yes it did have RAM.

No the IRST didn’t come with a laser, but the LANTIRN did, and they worked together.

no what kinds of notch rejection are there in general or on the F-14D i didn’t ask how good

what is RAM and cool that sensor fusion level is dope

Incorrect.

Is there any difference between the PhoenixA version and the PhoenixC any drag? The c version is a little bit heavier than the A.version and it carries less TNT, but I choose the A version over the C.version of the phoneix on the F14B. plus any news or updates ? About the f14 platform any buffs i hope in the future they buff the radars for it and thrust for the f14B

all the c does in game is having less inertial drift. and due to weight slightly worse aerodynamics

F-14D with TID screen aka fishbowl.

Afaik, most F-14Ds up until the early 2000s were equipped with TIDs rather than PTID because Navy chose to upgrade the earlier block F-14As, and nearly all F-14Bs.

From 2001 to 2004, F-14A with PTID were retired, and by 2005, the F-14B/F-14B(U) variants were also retired. This led to the widespread adoption of PTID on the F-14D for the first time.
