Six AIM-120As would make more sense. Paired with AIM-9Ms, it would be perfect. Honestly, it frustrates me because we could’ve gotten something like this instead, and it would’ve made a lot of money too because it’s an F-15C with Fox 3s. People would have loved it!
Imagine a loadout like this, but with two AIM-120s removed and replaced by AIM-9Ms.

To be completely honest I’m more than fine with current implementation of the F-14A, F-14B and F-14D thanks to Phoenix fixes and addition of AIM-9M to latest models.
That being said I’d gladly take more fixes to AIM-54, addition of AIM-7P to the latest F-14 models, aswell as addition of completely new variants of the aircraft such as F-14A Bombcat, F-14D(R) and some experimental F-14A or F-14D with AIM-120A and/or VTAS HMD.

Those should only be on F-14A-65-GR (*Only F-14 to actually launch them) as a squadron vehicle. Both F-14Ds should get their IRL capabilities and armaments, and be moved out of the shadow of the F-14B.

Good luck NF14A-65 only tested if the f14 airframe is capable of carrying and launching it unlike the NF-14D that tested it in stt mode and other modes
I mean, it’d be an interesting take on AMRAAM mechanics at least rather than just another boring AIM-120 carrier.
It would be like F-15 Baz (M) on launch. Not a fun experience
I don’t think the F14D w/Aim120A won’t be a boring aircraft to use especially since AMRAAMs will give the F-14D better chance at winning medium to close engagements at 13.3 meaning I don’t just have to rely on bvr engagements or a bvr missile (aim54) but rely on Medium Range Air to Air Missile and be the counter to su30mk2/mkk or other 13.3 fox 3 users(that is till decompression happens for rank 8 aircraft)
+1 although I think the f14D(r) should be 13.0 and the premium f14D should be 13.3

The rear section of the missile looks much more like an AIM-7 than an AGM-45. It seems they identified the wrong weapon.
Last time I checked the agm45 is a aim7 just turned into a anti radiation weapon
Maybe they did mislabel it I saw the fins as well but I assume they put those on for purpose of putting it on the f14 and theirs the fact that personally I never seen a aim7 with half painted black but it’s also missing a black square as well
Yeah it must be a aim7 because it seem like no shrike has a color strip that far back
