What sucks the most is that we didn’t get aim-7p for the f14D’s or Aim-120A for the TT f14D

They obviously don’t give a crap when we’ve got three F-14s rotting at 13.0 with our useless AIM-54s. Sucks it isn’t a Flanker so they could have babied it like they do the premium Su-30s, refusing to bump them up to 13.7. 💀

I wonder how long it’s going to take for the f14Ds to get aim7p-2 or for a f14D to get aim-120A…especially since aim7m/aim54 are inferior to them

I’m not sure yet. The main goal was raising awareness for a potential F-14D for the TT. Now that we have it that frees me up to change it.

It’s been too many things to remember. Sometimes I’ll skip my morning coffee and just change it. It only costs like $3. Normally it’s a reference to Jazz music. I know that makes me sound a lot older than I am.

Would still like to know about this source that the f14D can’t use the full capability for aim7P-2 to bad they close it before any discussion could be made

I’m really bothered by the fact that they added the f14D in the tech tree and didn’t even at least ask to specify in a suggestion thread in how it should come in the way the community would like to see it come and even ignore the one TT F-14D suggestion witch is extremely frustrating on top of the fact that they don’t let us have aim-7p-2 because “APG-71 operating mode is identical for both the AIM-7MH and the AIM-7P, which makes it impossible to use the uplink.”
This is only true for Aim-7P-1 as it doesn’t have rear receiver and it being designating as MH dosent mean its limited by mh functions. Also note that the aim7p on the f/a-18C early also gets designated as MH in its SMS. I would like to point out that the aim-7mh uses a WGU-23/B guidance the same one could be found in the aim7p-2 while the aim7m uses WGU-6/B that same one that could be found in aim7p-1 Witch is why i think the document tacm explains that the aim7p-1 still retains mh capabilities even though it has a different seeker
Than people use the navy training system plan document and are hit with it doesn’t specify that it can use aim-7p by bug volunteer but don’t put the same logic when tacm doesn’t specify blk 2 and the next updated tacm doesn’t specify apg71 and aim7 capabilities it only talks about f14A/B and awg9 when it does specify 7p-1 and 2
