There’s a consistent narrative of Soviet heavies needing to be nerfed in this game.
I get a Is-3 fighting 6.0s would be a bit nuts… but what about:
Tiger ost / west, KV-1C
T14, Cobra king, T34, T30, T29, T58,
Somua
Tigris
All are tanks that have never seen a br increase / nerf. They are all heavy tanks. All but one happen to be premium.

Bar the T30 they are all consistently purchasable.

Which German KV-1?
The KV-1C is under br’d just as is the VK/30 and the Panther line.
Kv-1c has what the KV-1E needed to be potent. A great gun, add on the fact it gets the better turret.
Jagdtiger isn’t a heavy tank :))
Maus has gone up in br.
T32 which one? The original is meh, the T32E1 feels quite balanced.
M103 is slightly bad, but also decent.
Except the KV-1C has to deal with fighting more KV-1s since it is German, and the Panzer 4 H 75mm often struggles with angles. :)

Obj. 248 6.3 > 6.7 literally the day you could use it.
T-10A 7.3 > 7.7 a couple weeks after its release.
IS-7 8.0 > 8.3
Obj.279 8.3 > 9.0
What other nations have had its heavies so nerfed? Gimme your best example.

My stats alone are a factor, but that does not nullify my point regarding vehicle archetypes and roles being far more detailed than their surface-level stats and performance suggest. :D

Look at the T58, everyone said it was crap. I kept saying it better be at least an 8.7, and it’s still going to be good. I was told no repeatedly by other forum users that it should stay at 8.3
It’s currently my highest KDr tank at a way over preforming 4.218
Most tanks that are balanced have a 2.0 kd for a good player. Over preforming tanks usually have about a 3.0.

You’re forgetting one factor: the fact that the T58 is a new vehicle. Which means many players are unfamiliar with countering it and artificially inflate its capabilities.
The Ka-Chi faced similar issues, but now it is quite balanced. :)

That smile comes off a smug, I’m sure many would agree. (Some won’t because they despise I use factual arguments in debates to dismantle their debate, then they lurk like people whom disagree).
Also, the T58 isn’t that new anymore, people know how to kill it. But it has some magically USA bs.
I had 3 experienced lv100s shooting me in the side, while I was disabled. It was a T-55-am-1, obj.906 and a T-62. All shooting me. It took 8 rounds to kill me. I have 6 shells left. But they weren’t penning somehow, and they were like 3 feet from me.
The dude in the T-55am-1 was in chat and losing him mind. I watched his dart bounce off the side of the T-58’s hull and non pen. I was dying laughing and felt bad for the poor guys.
Why does it come off as smug? It is just a smile. :)
I would not consider a one-off event as concrete proof. There have been cases where Gaijin messed something up, like the LVT with the M24 turret having 500mm+ armor. But I do not believe that is the case here. :)
I am not considering one off events.
I do funnily remember playing the IS-2 and getting .50 cal’d because somehow the weld area of the Is-2 was 20mm RHA for 3-4 weeks before it was fixed.
