I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the stabilizer + LRF is what makes it 8.3. Maybe if you weren’t stabilized

Vickers mk 1 is arguably overtiered but again, no 105s below 8.0
LRF + STAB alone is not enough to justify an 8.3 placement in my opinion. L52A1 is a bad round and your alternative is HEAT-FS or hesh. If you gave the Olifant 1 L52A1 instead of its dart that would not be worth 8.3 either, but it has a dart so it’s actually justified in being that high despite being kind of subpar in a lot of areas.

I think it is, if you got rid of one you could make the argument for 8.0, even having a LRF at 8.0 alone is a big pro and not many mbts at all have it
and? stabs have lead to britain in general being kind of overtiered as well has having actual dogshit ammo layouts (explain to me why the centurion 1 and centurion 2 have different ammo layouts)
The PZH2000 is 7.7 with an LRF and is harder to kill than the Vickers 3.
I would like to bring up the armor protection on the Vickers 3. Armor in general isn’t super relevant at 8.3 unless you have T-10 or IS levels of armor, but your upper front plate is thinner than a Sherman’s (60mm vs like 63.8mm) which makes it comically easy for any howitzer to just goob you (easier than normal, they barely have to aim at all), you have a Churchill VII level forehead which just lets SPAA not even aim that much to get you. Genuinely, the only thing the Vickers 3 has going for it over other similarly BR’d british tanks is the LRF, and the Olifant just outclasses it completely. The Vickers 1 is faster, has a faster reload, and has a better round. The Centurion 10 has more armor and also a better reload and round. Your lower side is so comically thin that a BTR can shoot it through your sprocket wheel, while kind of angled, and still kill you instantly.
I say drop the Vickers 3 and if it’s overbearing after a couple months, move it back up. It does not feel good to play right now and I was masochistic enough to spade the Chieftain 3 and 5 (which I also think are kind of subpar for their BR).

T95E1 and M60A1 (AOS) having only either the stab or quasi-APFSDS and no LRF whatsoever. Guess than moving stabilized M60 down to 8.0 is also then viable as iirc L52A1 is similar to M728 in terms of what it actually does. (Hello Leo1 just being a punching bag for the whole BR range)

Well, most of them actually are. That’s just Vickers gives you a fresh breath with 5 sec reload, stab and better mobility than Cents. Also Fox is good and fun

Can’t really blame you, 8.0 is also a really bad BR in general imo.
The technology gap between 8.0 and 9.0 (even 8.7 to some extend) is one of the biggest in game.

Vickers Mk.1 is arguably too good for 8.0. Vickers Mk.3 is mediocre at 8.3, but there are arguably worse vehicles at 8.3 than it.
Its round is a sidegrade to the Vickers Mk.3’s… if not worse.
Also I’m not sure if the Olifant Mk.1A should go up to 8.7. It’s pretty good at 8.3, but it would be below average for an 8.7 vehicle.
