I mean the jumbo and the tiger 2 are in the same boat which is a better comparison since both would be a full br apart from each other (although the proposed br change is still terrible i feel)

T29 7.0 > 7.3 (A go to, to bully tanks, great from 6.0 - 7.7, most 6.0-6.3 tanks hardly can kill these T34, T30 included, good reload and great penetration with APHE, it also has 3x .50cal HMGs, two of which are coax).
After playing it recently it seems the hull armor may have been nerfed, and weakened.
The reload was a bit better of a balancing point in my opinion when they nerfed that, but the hull armor change seems odd. Maybe I missed something?
But it’s performance is still good, just not good enough to be 7.3 anymore.

I mean, maybe. Though I can tell you that the performance at 4.7 was similar to that of the T14 in the right hands – at least based on my friend’s stats.

They’re all pretty good, but the T29 is much better because it can actually one-shot things on a regular basis, and still has ~250mm of penetration and a 15s reload.

But they all pretty reliably 1 shot things. The T34 has less chance, but they all share everything apart from the gun and reload.
T34’s round ddoes not 1-shot nearly as often as T29’s APHE or T30’s APHE. It’s just the nature of AP rounds, let alone an AP round with no overpressure.
The T29 gets the T30’s aspect (good one-shot APHE) and the T34’s aspect (good penetration, an extra coaxial 50.cal, and reload).
It shouldn’t be the same BR as the T30 nor T34.

What tank do you think it won’t one shot?
Are you just shooting center mass or weakspots?
Because generally I try hitting ammo over all no matter what I’m using.
But as I said earlier.
T34 / T30 ≠ 6.7 material. They do = 7.0 material.
And until recently I had the T29 as a 7.3 if you recall.
Perfect example is the Ho-Ri Production / Prototype.
That, and side-shots often aren’t one shots unless you specifically go for ammo.
Maybe, but they are definitely not equal to T29.

Plus, even if you hit ammo, sometimes it just doesn’t explode. That and you have to direct impact the ammo to set it off.

Well, with the reload nerf the T29 is a better balanced 7.0
So how else would you fix it?
They’re too strong for 6.7
5.7 literally stands 0 chance.
Just as 6.0 stood very little chance vs the old T29.
Maybe many years ago.
Ammo seems to just explode even if it’s just yellow now.
Very often as of late I’ve been struck by solid shot, it made the ammo yellow, then I exploded.
5.7s are infinitely better off against the T34 or T30 vs a Tiger II. The LFP and MG port are easily pennable by the 85 and 88.
I’d rebuff the T29’s reload to 12.5s / 12.0s and then move it up to 7.3.
