Ground Vehicles **PROPOSED** RB battle rating changes

In theory the Kv-1 should be eaten alive by anything with ~100mm+ of pen . . . in practice its side plates will bounce a 17pdr at 90°. I don’t know what or how Gajin did to the Kv-1’s model to make it so screwed up, but it’s honestly not even funny at this point. I’d think the Kv-1 is Italian with how much spaghetti code it runs on.

Why look at the Wiki when I’ve got the game open and it shows me the exact data right there?

You also dodged my question regarding you being very young, so I’m guessing I’m onto something.
In which case: Like I said it’s okay if you’re not knowledgeable on something yet, but please don’t argue about it then because you might as well spend that time learning stuff instead.

Mobility includes speed.

Top speeds in a vacuum are utterly meaningless, I already tried to get this through to you with the M56 -vs- Panther top speed comparison.

Idc where tbh. Just putting this information out there those who want to move it up to factor into the debate. If it doesn’t affect BR, then so be it, it’s still a historical correct that should happen anyways.

You’re probably right with how crap HESH is, but this a real round option it had. Might as well add it and hold out for a HESH buff.

Tbf the KVs with the most wonk armor go to the Klimi on Germany and the Soviet KV-1E

Happened on Sweden map.

I was hiding behind the large platform capping the CAP near the water.
M44 was other side of platform down the street a ways. From our positions I doubt the m44 could see any of my turret - except for the roof mounted mg. it’s just ridiculous I could die that way.

Yeah but they also lack decent firepower. It’s usable. Just not great. 85mm pen at 4.3 is pretty bad generally.

In an uptier and on tier it’s bad, you can def still use it but you gotta try, downtiers are where the KVs shine

welcome to fighting howitzer vehicles

Yeah. But look at 90% of other heavy tanks in the game that shine in Both a down and uptier.

Maus
Somua
T58
T34
M4a3E2
M4a3E2(76)

^ this is just to name a few.

The ones who are the worst in an uptier are:
KV’s
And IS tanks. (Mainly because they’re reload is so long and their armor is kinda meh.

maus and jumbos shine in uptier?

Oh I slap T58s with the Maus. They can’t kill me then they call me a cheater lol.

You can afford to be aggressive because of the armour, smoke grenades, reload, and gun handling though.

You can react to a chaffee because of the Churchill Mk VII’s access to smoke grenades, neutral steering, and 24 degrees of turret rotation speed.
You just need to be aware of your surroundings.

Not really? I haven’t had many issues with it. The only time when it can be trolly is when you shooting it at ranges greater than ~400m, and if the KV-1 isn’t looking directly at you.

I mean, I wouldn’t say the VK struggles more against the Churchill Mk. VII than the Churchill Mk. VII struggles against the VK. That being said, it’s a counter relatioship, just like the ISU-152 counters the KV-1B in pretty much all scenarios. Does that mean the ISU-152 needs to move to 5.0?

I know it’s good, but I can’t say how well it would perform at 5.0 because we don’t have the statistics for it. That, and because it’s an expensive premium vehicle that only seal clubbers with money would pay for.

Sure, up until a certain point. 4.7 seems reasonable to me but at 5.0, you start facing things that easily penetrates you.

Well of course. It’s like comparing a medium tank to a heavy tank.
They have different pros and cons. The Churchill VII can survive a sherman 76 and KV-85 frontally without many issues. I don’t think you can say the same with the Excelsior.

Based on my friend’s experience with it, that’s untrue.
You have the gun handling, smoke grenades, and neutral steering to make sure you can use your armour or gun before they shoot you or your weakspots. And even against very mobile vehicles. 95mm - 105mm of side armour is enough to stop their shells in a lot of cases.
E.B.R. (1951)? 106mm of penetration. Unless he is right on your side, at close range, he is not going to penetrate you. Same with the Chaffee.

No.
The gun depression is much worse, the gun handling is much worse, the reload is worse, it has no smoke grenades nor neutral steering.
You keep talking about CBT from chaffees but the KV-1E/B are even worse off.
It has similar armour profile and better mobility but without said benefits.

😂

It’s meaning less if it’s 3-4 kph difference, when it’s more then 5kph that does make a difference. I Asked this question bc I want to understand why the tank with such stats at 10.7 when the maps are usually huge and the low penning round, with excellent ballistics is at 10.7 not 10.3. Could you please tell me what makes it good?

you know what makes up for ALL of that? it’s fucking mobility. It’s armor profile is just better straight up because volumetric on KV-1s is like the game telling you to hang yourself.

Allow me to ask another question: Why the ACTUAL FUCK is the T14 4.7 when the VII, which is worse in every way that matters, 5.0

Not really. Its mobility isn’t even that impressive.
Other than reverse speed, it’s much worse than the Excelsior’s:

maybe against ~100mm rounds, but ~145mm rounds don’t really struggle that much:

I’ll answer your question with another:
Why shouldn’t the T14 be 5.0 too?
And much better turret armour is a metric that shouldn’t be understated.

See here’s the thing, I think it should be.

On a semi-related note, I don’t think the Churchill VII deserves to be 5.0 based exclusively on how it performs in ontiers, however I do think it, like the uparmored KV-1s, is a rather egregious thing to make 3.7 tanks shoot at when it’s really just Germany that has the firepower to deal with it reliably that low. It’s like a Tiger 1 but without the cupola that lets american 75s kill it (Yes the VII has a cupola but it’s 115mm thick all around).

@_Renzo

Do you know anything about the T29’s hull armor being nerfed?

So there’s no issues then.

Well, it definitely was overperforming at 4.7 – that’s for sure.

You should’ve seen when it was 4.0 😅

4.7 seems reasonable to me since that’s on the verge of facing ~150mm+ rounds at 4.7+, though I’m not sure if it’s on par with the Swedish KV-1 m1942.

Multiple people have told you why already, but you don’t want to listen.

  • The Leopard 2A4 is the shared most mobile MBT at 10.7 together with the M1.
  • It’s got the best gun handling characteristics of any 10.7 MBT after the M1.
  • It’s got good enough penetration to deal with any opponent.
  • It’s got a mediocre reload, but that’s just the nature of vehicle balance, you have good aspects and lesser aspects.
  • Armour is quite weak, but you’re not meant to be taking hits anyways, even if you’re in a T-80UD. The Challenger Mk.3 has terrible armour too and that thing doesn’;t get anywhere near the Leopard 2A4’s mobility, gun handling characteristics and it’s reload is significantly worse after the first 4 rounds.

There’s zero reason to place the 2A4 at 10.3, especially since that’s where the Challenger Mk.2 sits which is worse in nearly every regard, or the T-72AV TURMS-T which is massively inferior, or the T-64B which is also significantly worse.

I don’t think it’s particularly fair to use immediate post update stats as justification for “overperforming” honestly. Like of course the newly buffed heavy tank would get an influx of new players. I think the BR changes should have waited a few months for the post-update stats to normalize before just using immediate post update stats, at least for the churchill. The Valentine 100% deserved to move up after getting that buff
