Your own video shows shells will still go through the engine, perhaps not 100% of the time, nor was I trying to say it’s 100% of the time.
But I have recently gone back to the T-34-100 for a day, and it was awful.
That reload is so bad that it got me killed so often, and that’s merely because multiple enemies would push at once and there wasn’t much I could do except stare.
(And before you say, “you pushed up to far” or something along those lines I did not, and was even playing with a buddy)
T-34-100 is so heavily reliant on being a far away sniper or being to heavily covered by the team that with its optics it can’t snipe as well as others, and most teams don’t understand the concept of teamwork.
I think of it more as a glass cannon brawler, where you HAVE to hit your first shot, and not be shot in return.
For premiums alone for rank 4 it’s 23rd on the list out of 32 vehicles… so I can’t say it’s preforming very well overall for such a “good” vehicle.
Yes, it does go through sometimes, but that’s if they shoot perfectly, and it won’t one-shot your vehicle (even with one-shot PzGr).
I mean, you could honestly say the same with the IS-2s and T-44-122.
I mean, that’s true. Though I won’t say it’s that hard to get the first shot off against non-stabilized tanks considering its good mobility and great gun handling.
I wouldn’t say it’s such a good vehicle to the point where it is very strong at its BR. I’m just saying it’s good but nothing special.
Maybe a 9.8s reload would be reasonable.
Object 248 is strong at 6.3 but I’m not sure if it necessarily needs to get nerfed.
It’s an IS-1 at 0.6 BRs higher with slightly worse mobility, -3 degrees of gun depression, and a 1.5s longer reload… but gets a pretty good round for the BR.
Turns out I didn’t spade the KV-85 but playing with my best friend… it reconfirmed what I thought.
The Kv-85 is terrible compared to the VK-30 I couldn’t even spade it in a single night.
My KDr in it is a 1.38~
And my VK is like a 2.3~
I wish I could say it was staged but that thing is slow, weak, and the lack of gun depression / smoke grenades makes it a very meh tank.
Its opposition blows holes through it with ease.
From the replays that I have seen, you have been playing it rather recklessly, and not using the IS-2 strat with it when appropriate. You also seem to have been using the wrong shell:
I haven’t used mine in a long time and I’ve managed to get a 3.3 K/D in it (and this was before it had received the 7.0s reload buff:
It’s very good in CQC because of the good reverse speed, gun, and (now) pretty good reload, which are almost all the key characteristics needed to do well in those kind of situations.
If you’re literally playing it in reverse then that’s just scummy.
(Btw I was playing it like I was playing the VK30)
I don’t even do that with the Is-2…
Either aphe shell is plenty good enough.
And no I wasn’t playing it recklessly, had some crap luck sure. But it didn’t help that a couple games we ran into the same cheaters.
But all that mobility you were talking about previously doesn’t seem to exist unless you’re in reverse. It’s a very slow tank for some reason. Even the Kv-1s feel faster
They are quite different, with different strengths amd weaknesses.
KV is much slower forward - but way faster in reverse. It also has much better flank armor with a turret rotation more than 2x better than the VK. The KV is a brawler for CQC and the VK is a sniper for open fields and deserts.
Meanwhile average “obvious weakspots” T14 gameplay:
that means I dont agree. T14 has no place to be 4.7 tank. When angled hull and slightly angled turret its nearly impenetrable by most tanks of its br let alone in full downtier. Only german tank destroyers and lucky shots are capable of dealing with T14 in full downtier. Should be at least 5.0 or 5.3. Hell if absolute shit like Chi-ri can be 5.7 where its the worst tank at the br I see no reason why this stayed at 4.7
They have different strengths and playstyle.
Ironically, you can’t simply mindlessly rush enemies with the KV-85 unless you already know where they are, if they are looking at you, and what gun they have.
Needless to say, any player with some experience facing the VK.3002 (or just a player with a ~5.3 / 5.7 gun) makes the rushing strat risky at best and suicidal at worst.
Maybe you should? 🤷
Though if I’m being honest, after they buffed their LFP and lowered their BRs back down to 6.0 and 6.3 respectively, using the IS-2 strat with them isn’t as necessary as it used to be. Though the KV-85 definitely does need to do it in quite a few situations, and definitely can because of the great reverse speed.
Both are good enough at 5.0, but BR-365 is objectively better in every way other than flat pen (but 135mm of flat pen is good enough at 5.0 anyways).
No, I definitely saw some recklessness. Pushing out in the open is not ideal.
The players you accused of cheating in Fields of Normandy weren’t cheating – I checked their POV.
Maybe it’s because it wasn’t spaded? I wouldn’t say its that slow. Top speed is adequate, reverse speed is great. HP/Tonne is actually just as good (or bad depending on your frame of reference) as the KV-1 (ZiS-5).
I don’t have any matches in the 2A7V / 2A7 HU.
I still know they are some of the best tanks in War Thunder top tier (because I’ve played against them, seen others play them, and analyzed their capabilities and performance). Same thing can be said with the Vk.3002.
If you don’t see why you not playing them but talking about them is a problem, then I cannot help you.
So:
defends cheating
says playing the scummy way is okay.
Have you looked at my gameplay? I don’t spawn camp until it’s the last moments of the game.
I don’t do all the things that bad players need to abuse to be good at the game. I play fair and with honor.
Secondly, you need to look at the match before that. The one guy has a SIXTH SENSE cheat on, it was obscenely obvious.
The moment myself / my buddy saw him he snapped to us across the entire map almost and fired.
confirms you have to play scummy to do good in a vehicle
Which means it’s not as good unless you do a very specific thing.
The Vk30 (which you haven’t played) doesn’t require you do certain things.
Lastly, I had all the mobility upgrades and even experted it. It’s not a drag racer.
I know that direct experience helps form a better opinion. That doesn’t mean you can’t form a good opinion without it.
No? Where am I defending cheating.
Scummy is an arbitrary term. You could argue having to shoot barrels / tracks with the Jumbo 75 is scummy, but most good players know that you need to do that in some cases to do well. Same can be said with using the engine to block APHE rounds. It’s not an unfamiliar concept to a lot of experienced players around this BR.
Good for you I guess?
I’d rather stay alive and keep killing.
I will when I get the time, but the Fields of Normandy match wasn’t anything suspicious.
Even without using the engine as armour, it still performs well. You should be able to side-scrape and kill most things before they can get a good shot on you anyways… unlike with the Vk.3002, where you often need to bet on the enemy missing the turret before you can get your gun on target.
But is rather limited in how well you can perform in it, especially against more competent players. There’s a very good reason why you’d rarely see them in 5.0 8v8s, but plenty of KV-85s, KV-1Cs, and M4A1 (76)s.
It’s no medium tank, but it’s still pretty good for what it is.
Maybe part of it at 4.7, but I remember that a good portion of it was when it was 5.0 (before the reload buff too).
I mean, I’ll play 10 matches in it and we’ll see how I’ll do.
