Ground Vehicles **PROPOSED** RB battle rating changes

I mean, anti-tank capabilities would be fairly balanced, but their firerate and rounds against aircraft would be rather lacklustre at 4.7. Even at 4.0, I wouldn’t say they’re that good at taking out single-engine fighters. I would rather take the T77E1 to be honest.

If you hit a plane with the 40mm it isn’t going to be flying to much

That’s if you hit them in the first place 😅

That is the matter of skill though

Sure, but you can say that with anything. You could probably hit a plane with the 8.8cm Flak’s time-fuze HE if you are good enough. It doesn’t mean that it’s better than SPAAs at that BR though.

The M42s and M19A1s have below average turret rotation speed (40 degrees per second compared to 65 degrees per second for the T77E1), has much worse firerate than the T77E1, has worse gun elevation speed than the T77E1, and the T77E1’s continuous stream of 6x 50.cals do arguably just as much damage as one / two 40mm HE shells. I’d say the T77E1 is far easier to play, and better in general against aircraft, but it is worse than the M19A1s / M42s at killing tanks – that’s for sure. Instead of putting the M42 / M19A1s at 3.7 for their lacklustre anti-air capabilities, I’d say putting them at 4.3 makes sense since in GRB, anti-tank capabilities generally matter more than anti-air capabilities… or whichever is higher (most of the time).

2S38 is at 10.7 because of other attributes (Gen 2 thermals, ESS, mostly empty turret), but also because it has good anti-tank capabilities with its autocannon at that BR along with ~8.7 - 9.0 anti-air capabilites.
M42 / M19A1 would make sense at 4.3 because of its other attributes (like mobility) but also because it has good anti-tank capabilities with its autocannons at that BR along with ~3.3 / 3.7 anti-air capabilities.

When I play 4.0 br the M19 and M42 are like the most annoying things to fight as they are questionably survivible.

I usually take a couple HE shells for that exact reason. You can also just 7.62 / 50.cal their crew a lot of the time (since they are all relatively exposed).

I think IS-3 and IS-4 come under the category of “not fun” rather than “not good”, they are very tanky but hard to get lethality on target due to turret traverse and mobility. That is all.

In fact, they are quite good in 1v1s for 7.7, especially in SQB. It’s just that they aren’t meta for GRB because of the slow reload, bad gun depression, bad gun handling, and mediocre mobility. Those attributes often cap a good players’ full potential.

When I play against them they peak me, chripple me and there usually a tank near by that can kill me. If I turn my turret I die if I don’t I die.

It seems to me that you’re usually in a bad position. You shouldn’t be in that kind of situation, especially if you’re around teammates. If you’re in a squishy vehicle, like the Panzer IVs, I’d play more cautiously and only really start pushing further into the enemy’s side if you know you can get the first shot off in a 1v1 kind of situation.
If you suspect that there may be a lot of enemies in front of you, let your teammates come help you, and / or play defensively instead.

The problem is that you can’t really push them or bait there shoot like with other tanks. So you are stuck waiting for them to push you so you can kill them, and because of that there squad mates or teammates can push you. And they also make you blind.

If you get into a situation where there is an M19A1 / M42 in front of you, I’d switch to HE and let them push. You can then 7.62 their turret crew.
If they don’t push you while you’re reloading, you can just push wide (make sure it’s wide and not narrow so that they can’t easily track you) and then hit them pretty much anywhere with HE and that usually kills them.

Yeah but the annoying ones play round around the rosy while waiting for their teammates.

I’m not sure what to say about that then 😅

I guess in that very specific instance you’d be better off trying to use artillery on the M42/M19A1 and hold a defensive position before you get pincered by two enemies.

But remember there are noobs at that br. So if they encounter M19 or M42 they are most likely going to die. In one lobby this dude used the M42 and got 14 kills (0 deaths) in the first 5 minutes. with other tanks at least you need to reload while the SPAAs don’t really.

I mean, I think it can be said with other tanks too. The SAV, Pak Puma, T14, (what used to be the APHE monster of 4.7 that is the Churchill Mk.VII), M4A2, Swedish M4, KV-1B/E, Excelsior, German T-34… etc.

Sure, these tanks need to reload, but they can frontally penetrate most tanks too.

An average M19A1 / M42 player isnt going to kill 14 players in one spawn. They’re just going to end up in front of a tank that they can’t kill.

That isn’t really correct as it would apply to every one.

Tbf the wumbo looks like cheeks to the pleasing aesthetic of the Tiger 2s.

Well, would you rather be in a tank that can’t be penetrated frontally by 7.62s and be able to frontally penetrate most things or do you want the better mobility and side-shot capabilities?

I’d say the average player would find playing a regular tank far more easy than the M19A1 / M42s.
And I think the statistics support me on this one:
