Yeah, it’s the NATO benefits VS Russian armour & gun debate.
I’d say NATO MBTs are almost always preferred amongst good players but they aren’t used to their fullest potential with average players.
The A1A1 has no armour (except for some autocannons) to rely on, no fuel tanks to absorb shots, and a mediocre round for 9.0… with no LRF or thermals. At 9.0, I’d rather play the TAM to be honest. And lets not forget about the other great 9.0s ( like the OF-40 Mk.2, which is basically the A1A1 but with much better gun handling, LRF, and a 50.cal, or the XM1 Chrysler, which is better in every way besides for access to smoke grenades, hull-down survivability, round, and APHE autocannon protection).
At least at 8.7, it would be a good pick between Magach 6B, T58, Obj 122, Obj 140, and Turm III.

Well, the IKV-103 gets 400mm pen HEATFS (~8.0 shell) all the way down at 4.0… and I wouldn’t say it’s a huge problem at 4.0.
Every time I see it, it’s a yummy free kill, or I just avoid going out in long, open spaces if I see it sniping.
People complain far more about the KV-1E/B, with only ~96mm of pen APHE with 100g of TNT (a ~3.7 - 4.0 shell).

Also I just realized the T-62M-1 does not get a commander override, and the Leo does.
Sturm emil is fine in br, but in strategy and game play they are similar.
Using the russian Heavy mg you can kill all leopard 1s on the side btw
Yes, it gets a rangefinder (similar to the Magach 6B / T58.
I mean, the commander override can be useful from time-to-time, but I’d say it rarely saves the Leopard considering how squishy it is, as well as the fact that both the gunner and commander sit on the same side of the turret.

Yes people complain about the KV-1E/B tons. Ironically enough I was laughing about that philosophy to a buddy of mine over the T26E5 earlier.
But I would say the T26E5 is much stronger vehicle.

The M-51’s armour, mobility, and survivability is abysmal for 6.3 standards, let alone 6.7.
I think average players and experienced players struggle more against the KV-1B/E than the T26E5 to be honest with you.
Both are pretty strong though.

I also brought this point up to my buddy earlier.
Since I think it’s a 7.5 sec ace reload for a 105mm single piece shell with 1 loader in the M-51
Make it a 11.4 sec reload.
And in the KV-220, which has two loaders, and a single piece ammo, it only reloads a mere 0.1 secs faster. (Which is an 85mm)
(I made a previous suggestion to buff the Kv-220 to 5.7 or give it a 6.7 sec reload. Especially since is armor model is so broken… see earlier vid for what I’m talking about)

Pretty much any penetration upon either is death.
T-62M-1 has its ammo in the fuel.
Leo has its ammo straight in the hull.
They’re very similar in performance/ capability.
Though the T-62M1 can tank all autocannons frontally, and take hits from 8.0-8.3 rounds like the Turm III’s 400mm pen HEATFS / APDS.
I’m not so certain about the Turm’s ammo.
I’ve killed a T-90A through its Kontact-5 ERA with Heat-FS (can’t explain how) but it did happen a few years ago.
Definitely something like the M36’s Heat-fs
KV sadly is nothing special at 6.0.
It is more a medium than heavy tank.
