I have an idea about changing aiming mechanics in simulation battles. I think its too easy, when we look at air SB flying is completely different and harder diversifying the gameplay. As Ground SB should be. The only thing that distinguishes SB from RB is friendly fire and lack of indicators above ally tanks. I think good choice to change that is to completely remove mechanic where the gun moves to place pointed by mouse and add mechanic like in game gunner heat PC or something simular. Other idea is to stearing gun by the keyboard arrows so the aiming would look more stuffly like in real life. This can positively change the gameplay and make it more demanding. The role of planes in these battles can also increase due to the more difficult aiming because if controlling the plane is harder and requires more careful flying, why should shooting them down be easy. I think that the game needs to be changed in such a way that the game is as entertaining as possible. I hope that the idea will appeal to players, especially those looking for a more simulation-like gameplay
I wouldnt mind if they set up a test event for it. They could probably copy the air controls over to it.
This wouldnt work. Imagine playing something with manually aimed atgms.
100% agree.
Tank gameplay in sim needs an overhaul
Games like Hell Let Lose uses this but it will only work for older vehicles and pre-hydraulic vehicles that rely on hand cranks. Modern tanks basically align where the optic goes and already accounts for sight offset.
Right now we have a push to aim and a pull to aim does not change much except with the chance to overshoot by holding the pull for too long. Again negating the fact that… well… modern vehicles…
Ballistic computers and shot trajectory calculation has been a thing on vehicles since the late 60s / early 70s and has only become more advanced over the ages. Realistically speaking it should become easier for sim in 12.0.
Note, I do not play much sim as I know like 5 people that do play it and well - “I am over here, do not shoot! as I take a friendly round to my turret”
