Ground RB RP (ideally air as well) gain should be increased significantly

“Time to research”, so to speak, in this game is simply too long. For a single nation for top tier you can spend tens of in-game hours just to research a single top-tier vehicle. And nowadays it’s not rare for a nation to have 4-5-6 rank 8 vehicles, each requiring 400k RP. That’s millions of RP needed for a single rank of vehicles. For air, the situation is even worse, but RP gains there are better as well.

Let’s talk about ground first. Assuming well above average battle (rank7-8, 10 minutes, 2-2.5k mission points, mix of premium vehicles and tech-tree, most time and points spent with premium). For that you’d get around 10k RP. Assuming no time between battles, it’s 60k/hour → a bit less than 7 hours of play for a single vehicle). That’s with premium vehicle, and with premium account. And that is in pretty much ideal “average” condition. You’d have battles getting less RP far more often than battles with more RP.
Without premium time and vehicle the situation is straight up horrible.

In air (at least for me), the situation is a bit easier if using premium plane. Mostly due to the fact that you play the whole game with that plane. You don’t divide your RP between premium and tech tree vehicles, you always get an RP boost. But also, for some reason, time activity in ground gives far too less RP than in air. And in general, same mission point game, with same time spent in game just gives far too less RP in ground.

Let’s compare battles I’ve played recently in both air and ground.
Ground. Whole game played with strv 121 with talisman (714% RP gain).
13 minutes of game, 5k mission points. 28k RP


Air (played with J-7D, 696% RP gain). 10mins of game, around 4-4500 mission points. Let’s say 34k RP (subtracting research bonus)

All the same condition, I did less, played less time and yet got more RP in air. And you are more likely to get battles like that in air, than you are in ground, due to the nature of air battles (at least pre-fox3 spam).

So to sum up: at least as a first step, ground RP gain should be increased to match air (also adjusting for the fact that in ground you play with multiple different vehicles, so naturally your life duration will be kuch shorter there).
And then in general RP gains should be increased for everything. Loads of new vehicles get added, new ranks are created, more and more rp is needed, and yet there are no meaningful increases in research effectiveness.

I understand the sentiment but i also like how the grind generally speaking filters out abysmally bad players to low tiers (or to premium spam BRs)

it took me like 2 years to unlock everything in the British ground and air tree. which was just insane.

I’d gladly trade a few more bad players in games (can’t really be much worse to be honest) for not feeling like I’ve made zero progress in 2hour session for example.

I guess as i dont really care at all for anything higher than a chieftain I’ve never really felt that, however the grind for Eurofighter was horrific

this statement makes no sense when you factor in top tier prems, a longer grind doesn’t filter out bad players it just extends the time it takes for them to have a lineup

Yep 60k an hour is what I mathed it out to for grb as well, thats ideal double premium circumstances and at least above average games.

But this thread is gonna be invaded by people claiming its fine because you get to spawn multiple times in grb and then runa repeating himself for the 100th time, it shouldnt matter and pointing out you still get considerably less rp for a single spawn grb match.

that just not how it works tho, the prems already exist and people are gonna buy them

I feel like the gains itself are ok but premium bonuses are too low. If i pay to play +100% RP is not enough anymore for the insane amount and RP costof new top tier vehicles.

thats an inherant issue with gaijins money making method, it actively hurts the gameplay for normal players and ruins new player retention because veterans curbstomp them

yeah i know iv complained about it before but a longer grind dose not fix that in any way

The bad players exist everywhere, there really is no filter in the first place.

The gains are not ok. With premium account and premium vehicle, you effectively quadruple your RP, and even then you still spend loads of time.
For F2P player is pretty much impossible to reach top tier without spending like 500 hours for a single air/ground tree (not even both, just one)

i know its not a popular opinion but f2p grind has to be bad in higher tiers otherwise no one would ever spend money. But if you spend money on premium time and 80€ on a premium plane then you should absolutely be researching faster than rn

Funny thing is that spawning multiple times actually hurts you.
At least in the fact that you rarely spend a whole battle in a premium vehicle, so you don’t gain full premium bonus. Not even talking about spending time wasted to respawn, get into position again etc

I don’t say top tier grind needs to be easy for f2p. But it doesnt need to be that hard.
Spending 1000hours for a full nation when you have like 10 of them in the game? I don’t think I’ve spent this amount of time in all game’s that I’ve played combined (and I play well more than average person, unfortunately).
Right now people buy premiums because otherwise it’s impossible. A lot of people leave because of that.
In my opinion it’s much better to shift from “premium makes it possible to reach high tiers” to more like “premium just saves me time”. This way both groups are happy, and gaijin still makes money (perhaps even more money, because players would be generally happier and more willing to buy stuff)

Any gain to GRB RP would require a gain to all other game modes at the same time for balance reasons.

yes… because gaijin CHOSE to go the route of punishing the players until they pay rather than other tried and tested methods they could have also chosen.

But grinding for the high tier vehicles IS playing the game. I really dont understand why people act like f2p players should have easier access, they can literally play the entire game as much as they want for free. I think Gaijin would make a lot more money if they just made premiums better or made premium time a bit more expensive but you get +300 or 400%
