Ground RB: Pit maps need to be removed due to ARM's

I just had selveral matches on these old pit maps. Ground RB maps which are surrounded by high up mountains, cliffs or hills. Or other map types which are somehow lowered into the landscape.

Its unplayable as SPAA. It always had been difficult. Since planes can easily move undetected behind terrain cover. Your radar arcs are heavily obstructed and you don’t detect nor see anything. Unless jets suddenly pop up to engage ground targets.

Now we have anti radiation missiles. They can be somehow shot from behind terrain cover, without ever spotting the carrier planes. These missiles suddenly appear from like 2-3 km away, which is already to close to intercept them with vertical launch SPAAs. You’ll never hit them.

Its kind of lame that game mechanics allow shots where the jet remains in cover. Somehow air players might lock radar sources while any spaa won’t get eyes on the jet.

So…please re-think the map cycles. Its just not fair. Alot maps are just not made for current level of ingame tech.

They can’t.

You need LOS to lock targets and fire them.

The maps are garbage, but this is terrible reasoning

can’t lock until I get LOS

there isnt really anything wrong with the bowl style maps tbf other than making helis impossible to flush out or generic poor map design nothing to do with bowls

skill issue more than anything
they literally cant be fired without LOS and a lock within its radar bands.

We cant maddog any missile in game.

CCIP tosses are possible with some missiles and bombs but arent precise, you can also intercept the ordinance pretty easily with the top tier SAMs, its even pretty doable in a rather mid SPAA like a Stormer AD/LAV AD

The game could probably use a whole different map selection for 9.0+ as SAM/AGMs change pretty much everything. Most maps are just insanely flat with no cover for anyone, some are mountainous hellholes that allow aircraft to attack from any direction. The balance is quite terrible.
