So I sincerely hope that this will be implemented at the end of the runway and that there won’t be any bugs with every aircraft equipped with an arresting hook or emergency hook activating when attempting a normal landing.
Now ill finally be landing with gear down instead of just sliding
There wouldn’t be any reason why you couldn’t set arrestor hook and gear to the same keybind or for them to have a combined keybind as well.
Just give players the choice
there is a key for the drag chute after all (even though it deploys automatically as well) it’s weird not to have one for the arrester hook
There is already an auto control for landing gear, they could tie it into that, or just add a new one in those options
I really like the arresting cable addition at airfields. Only problems I can see is
- Airfield Campers can J out faster without having to slide/land normally.
- If two people land in quick succession, and the second plane makes contact with the first, will they be damaged/explode, or will it be treated like when taking off i.e. planes can “morph” together?
If two planes are touching the ground they wont collide so as long as the wheels are on the gound it’ll be fine. My biggest worry is the immersion personally
Except they would probably get out of sync and then be unusable
That is where either a toggle setting or a combined keybind would make sense. But still. Needs to be a choice somewhere not to deploy the hook
Combined keybind would likely get out of sync and not work. A toggle setting would work however
Also in simulator you probably wouldn’t have a clue if it was engaged or not, because no third person view, so the setting/keybind would have to explicitly say “engaged, disengaged”
Yep. Just the exact same text at the bottom of the screen like we have for gear and flaps
…but could very well be the case. Remember there are other cases, like tank missile guidance not separable from tank driving controls.
But we’ll have to wait until we can check and test on DevServer.
huh, I guess every landing in warthunder is now classed as an emergency situation, i guess given how often people do actually land and not lawn dart in a game is pretty rare, it’s a thing not regularly practiced so i guess fair.
Well in a situation where the combat is so close to the airfields I could imagine every landing would be hurried
Is just the Gaijin agenda. Just reduce and flat every map cuz certain nation and his endemic gun depression problems and bad sniping perform )))
It’s different in Sim, where people indeed know how to land - not all, but a majority. And as it’s EC, one does indeed land often.
Thinking that maybe (we still don’t know how exactly it will be implemented) we’ll have forced arrested landings now every time has me in a pretty desperate state of, ahaha, despair…
90% of the players- Flanking? What’s flanking?
This is more of a visual upgrade, but the way the current bak 12s are set up would not work, they each on both sides need to be rotated 180 so the tape reel end is closest to the runway. I’ve worked with these things and it’s not confidential as there are plenty images online that show it the right way.
hi, i wanted to ask what the changes to sinai are as stated that there were “gameplay changes”
