Ground Assault: skipping waves

New patch, new issues.

Played Mozdok and Kursk, in both the waves 4 (Panther D for Mozdok, T-34/85 for Kursk) and 8 (Tiger H, IS-1) never came. Saw in Kursk that the counter for remaining waves went from 5 to 4, stopped for a second or two without any spawns, then went on to 3 and the corresponding batch of IS-2s.

Edit: Japan as well, waves 4 and 8 not appearing.
Edit 2: Mozdok on BR 4.0-5.0 same.
Edit 3: Maginot has it too.

While we’re at it, the equipment pickups still don’t work the way they did until September. I have an open ticket for that too, but so far nothing has been done about it.

Wont be able to test until after work, but im willing to bet something new broke. Will have to try top tier and other low tiers to check it out.

I swear the more they ‘improve’ things on one end, at this point, vastly conflicts with outdated modes such as assault and reverberates the need for them to update these.

I wonder if sinai has been changed again too… funny how each update modifies the terrain somehow, lol.

Yea those pickups need to be fixed…

How does it affect rewards and does the game finish faster?

I got the normal amount of SL, match time is a few minutes (two waves) shorter. Difference depends on the map, though. It’s still a bug which doesn’t necessarily make the game better.

I see. Well, while ur at it, go ham, less time for more rewards is always good. ( Gaijin devs in shambles, hell maybe if they read feedback they’d already know)

Oh, people still manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The usual errors apply, so the situation hasn’t really changed. Assault is supposed to be 11 waves, not 9 and 2 skipped.

There’s one issue on Maginot which actually improves the game because it prevents the base from being overrun from every direction all the time. Not ticketing this since it does actually make life better on the map.

Something definitely broke, occasionally we get 5-6 squads waves instead of the normal 3 squads, when that happens we also get doubled enemy planes count and the enemies also get mixed up (kpz70 and leopard 2A4 spawn at the same time in mozdok 8.3+), last wave instead of Leo 2A6 we are getting 2A4 last wave, which is not normal. But I do like the double wave as an element of surprise, like a difficulty tweak lol not sure about enemy skipping as I hadn’t encounter one

It’s not as obvious as having the minimap explode with red dots. There aren’t 30 or more seconds without anything happening.

Wave 3 over → count goes to 8 left → one second, nothing → two seconds, nothing → count goes to 7 left, bot tanks spawn.

Odds are that your matches since the new patch had the wave skip but you didn’t notice. For me it was something nagging when shooting Tigers at Mozdok while wondering “did I miss the second Panther wave somehow while being mentally elsewhere?”

Forgot to repost that in fact have seen this happening as well, it did not seem to really have any adverse effect on ewards either, and as others have said, it still does not guarantee a win, especially with sales we have so many new players that jump right into higher tiers (maybe not AS noticeable in ground assault, but definitely in air assault)

Tried high tier air as well but did not see any wave issues, just the usual loss in Norway due to the still unrealistic ticket numbers… had some issues with switching radar modes, etc but nothing else.

Really wish these modes would get fix/updates to coincide with current gameplay, but with how fixated they are on gaining new players($$$) rather than retaining veterans, guess things wont change.

By my observations, the two missing waves haven’t done anything to actually make life in Ground Assault easier. Just yesterday I had somebody telling me that AA at Maginot is not needed “because there’s only one plane or so per wave”.

I couldn’t help a BIG smile when he was hit by bombs. Don’t know how often because as usual I left after I got blown up the second time by ignored bot aircraft.

Anyone have issues with Sinai?
I am noticing invisible rocks, and enemies that you cannot hit until they move either to a certain area, etc… we had a whole team trying to take some out that shots just kept passing through the vehicle…
It happens when you fire at the South East hillside area mostly.
The invisible rock is when you try to get through the pass at C4 grid i couldn’t even get up the hill it kept acting as if I was hitting a rock or cliff…

From what I can gather, the map is somehow having collision from the previous versions of the map, its the only way these ‘invisible’ objects are causing issues like this.

Edit : Found a bug report someone already submitted regarding this, in case anyone wants to add to this at least.

Yeah, I usually close the game before Sinai loads because it’s just ****, but I had a go and crashed into an invisible wall omw to the camp spot on the bottem left of the minimap

regarding wave skipping, I played Kursk again, I may be wrong here but it seems to be consistent; it’s the same waves getting skipped

I’m also getting repairs from toolkits again

You now get repairs if you drive over an equipment pickup while a.) some part is completely broken or b.) one or more crew members are dead. If neither condition applies, only ammo is restocked.

As for the skipping, it’s the 4th and 8th when counting waves played, or 8/4 on the counter of how many are remaining.

i’m on fulda rn and it just skipped wave 4, I’ll edit in any others
