Gripen might be the best dogfighter with the AOA limiter off and for some reason gaijin gave the US no jet actually capable of dogfighting the gripen

Raptor isnt multirole. Also in general rafale is better. Cheaper to buy, run and maintain + multirole. But as fsr as air superiority, the raptor still dominates and will continue to dominate as long as nothing better comes around.

Eh raptor can carry a2g and a2a at same time but not much. Which is why I say Rafale is better at it

Its limited by internal weapons only (only amraams ive ever seen on external pylons) really cant justify using it for ground strike role when f15, f18e, f16 and f35 exist.

Well yeah that’s why Rafale is better at it

nah rafale and f-15ex are definitely better 4+

The flying tennis court and bajjet is better, wanna talk about hot takes.

The payload of the EX is only 1,500lb off the MTOW of a Gripen.

I didn’t say ‘best 4-4.5 gen fighter’ I said best 4-4.5 gen dog fighter.

in this case your right then lol. they did improve F-15EX manueverability over previous F-15 with new FBW but still not gripen level

by sheer capabilities it absolutely is, also significantly more expensive in most ways

Yep. But hey, a .9 TWR, killer maneuverability, and great systems in a cheap package, not to forget its cheap operating costs and it really not being a bad jet for what it truly is, I’d pick a Gripen with a solid pilot any day.

theyre made for different purposes and users, gripen is essentially super f16.

not really, even F-16 has payload on the Gripen

I can think of 1 time an F-16 could clearly and easily defeat a gripen. It was late '80’s and an F-16 had just come back from depot level maintenance. Before returning it to the fleet, the aircraft needed to fly an FCF flight (functional check flight). Part of the test was a sustained level 9G turn. Pilot pulled the aircraft directly into an 11 G turn and, before the pilot could get the aircraft stabilized out, had ripped the wings off and had to eject. Accident investigation discovered the Flight Control computer card was incorrectly loaded with an instantaneous 11 G limit which that very strong aircraft was nonetheless never designed to handle. One of it’s great assets was you never had to worry about an over-G as its flight control computer was designed to NEVER exceed 9 G (until you loaded a poorly loaded card). No matter how much you may want it, you can never get more out of the aircraft than it is designed to give you (except maybe a few very brief seconds!).

If you define keep as 70 years ago, yes, the US keeps trying to remove guns from its jets.

“ Germany’s Typhoon pilots explained that when the F-22 was flying with external fuel tanks attached and fighting within visual range , Typhoons were often able to outclass the Raptor.

There were two mornings where we flew against them 1v1. We pulled off all the tanks to get the most alpha [angle of attack]; the Eurofighter really is an animal with no tanks,” Germany’s Maj. Marc Gruene, one of the pilots who participated in the drills, explained”

A Raptor with external tanks, fighting from the defensive and not allowed to use BVR, against Typhoons that weren’t carrying any tanks or external weapons.

With the Raptor in the worst possible position and the Typhoon in the best possible position, the Typhoon could beat the Raptor.

The F-35B and C don’t have an internal gun and have to carry a mid gunpod to be able to somewhat have that capability.

Sure, but the Air Force F35A does have an internal gun. Maybe the Navy felt other needs were more of a priority than the gun.
