Gripen D is a two seater Gripen C without a gun and worse flight performance.
Imo I’d rather two seater vehicles like that be a modification for single seater for people who like the two seater design more.

Hopefully they get something worthwhile at rank 8 to help fill the soon to be gaps. The nation is about to have a very small amount of aircraft there, so maybe the gripen D after the SU-22 is possible
Honestly they’ll likely get their unique modified vehicles to fill them out in time, this isn’t the first time a nation has had a gap. Hell Sweden still hasn’t gotten a 5.x plane since it came out years ago. italy is a low priority and I think Gaijin might be against adding the Gripen D since 1 it’s irrelevant to add. It’s a worse Gripen but not to a point where it can go down in BR.
It would be a question to ask Smin about.
Seeing the newest post its not unlikely the gripen D will come to italy. However, is this enough to provide options for players, as smin himself said earlier? Surely they have more planned for italy’s rank 8/9
Considering we are getting Hungarian lower ranks portion, I think other areas of the air tree will be untouched next update.
Again that’s not a valid point. A better example would’ve been the A7K from the US. A two seater version of the A7E. The reason they got it was that it had unique weapons compared to the E model.
The Gripen D literally doesn’t. Why can’t you do literally any amount of research to find something that would warrant it’s addition rather than crying about Italy needing some useless jet.
Seriously weird cope hill to stand on when Hungry props for low tier are far more valuable to Italy long term unique diversity than needing to just beg for swedish jets that have no differences outside of being worse than the model already available in the tree.
If you want a two seater Gripen so bad get ready for it to probably be on Sweden when they replace the JA37DI F21

I can see the D coming as a new high tier premium vehicle.
Only problem is BR, the Gripen D has no gun and worse flight performance while offering no unique weapons.
It’s more likely we get another squadron based Gripen C or a Norwegian F16 (or danish if gaijin confirms them as a sub)
(Both Gripen A’s, btw just using them as reference since gaijin prefers unique camos for prems)
personally I wouldn’t mind if they used some single seater camos for the Gripen D prem, mainly since Sweden doesn’t really use to many camos especially on two seater models as they often fly single seater for airshows. Same thing with us too honestly. I know Norway does two seaters fairly often for air shows
