On the Gripen E, the SPICE precision-guided munitions are carried on ventral (belly) weapon stations, while the targeting or reconnaissance pod is mounted on a separate forward fuselage station. These attachment points are structurally and functionally independent.
Because the pod does not occupy a weapon hardpoint, its presence does not preclude the carriage of SPICE weapons. This layout reflects the Gripen E’s intended multirole strike profile, where self-designation and autonomous target engagement are required while carrying guided air-to-ground munitions.
Removing or disabling the targeting pod when SPICE weapons are equipped would therefore represent a non-realistic constraint, rather than a limitation imposed by aircraft design, integration, or operational doctrine.
For an accurate representation, the Gripen E should retain its targeting pod concurrently with SPICE weapon carriage, consistent with its documented sensor-shooter architecture.
@Smin1080p_WT Why did it get removed. It is historicaly accurate to have it with the spice 250 onb belly rack. If not let us move the other bomb pylon step to the left so we can fit the targeting pod since it clearly has enough space for it.
This is quite ridiculous, they try to fix THEIR modeling problem by removing a completely historical loadout. Now players have to suffer for THEIR mistake, at least for a short while before they can address it. I sometimes wonder what the heck is going on inside some of the game directors’ head.
