Greek Vehicle Inaccuracies Discussion

Disclaimer: Do Not use this thread to complain about “muh copy paste” or any of the vehicles being added simply because they’re not to your taste. Do not complain about the tree it’s being added to not being where you think this subtree belongs, it’s a done deal and that’s not what this thread is for. This isn’t a wishlist thread either, talk about the vehicles already here, not the vehicles you want (there’s the famous wishlist thread for that). This thread is for the discussion of the vehicle’s implementations and their inaccuracies only, none of what’s been listed above.

Hello all, as of the upcoming Major Update “Sky Odyssey”, a plethora of Greek vehicles have been revealed!

This includes, but may not end up being limited to:

Aircraft:

  • F-84G-16 (7.7, Rank 5)
  • F-86E(M) (8.0, Rank 6)
  • F-102A (9.0, Rank 6)
  • A-7H (10.3, Rank 7)
  • A-7E (10.3, Rank 7 Premium)
  • F-104G (Delayed)
  • Mirage F1CG (11.3, Rank 7)
  • F-4E AUP (13.0, Rank 8)
  • Mirage 2000-5 Mk.2 EG (14.0, Rank 8)
  • Rafale EG (14.7 Rank 9)

SPAA:

  • Osa-AKM (10.3, Rank 7)
  • Tor-M1 (11.3, Rank 7)

Tanks:

  • Leopard 2HEL (12.7, Rank 8)

Firstly and foremost, I and many others are quite excited to finally have Greece represented ingame in such a large fashion and can’t wait to see it be expanded upon in the future! I’d like to thank gaijin for adding so many vehicles and helping out 2 of Israel’s greatest issues in one update (a lack of a rank 9 plane, and unviable rank 7 SPAA). Truly gaijin, thank you for Greek representation!

However, now we must focus on bugs and inaccuracies. Rarely does a vehicle arrive to War Thunder without any bugs/inaccuracies found with them, and these Greek vehicles are no exception! Below I’ve listed each vehicle individually, click the spoilers to view all open reports on these vehicles. More bugs will likely be found over time. If you find any, please let me know.

AIR:

SB2C-5 (Bugs: None)

Description: Simply put, a Greek SB2C-5.

No inaccuracies known.

F-84G-16 (Bugs: None)

Description: Simply put, a Greek F-84G.

No inaccuracies known.

F-86E(M) (Bugs: A Major one)

Description: Simply put, a Greek CL-13 Mk.4, that gaijin thinks is a Mk.6 it seems…

Bugs/Inaccuracies:

Bug: Currently based on the Mk.6, not the Mk.4
Details: This aircraft, designated the F-86E(M), is based on the Canadair CL-13 Mk.4 aircraft, but gaijin has modeled it as if it’s a Mk.6 for some reason.
Status: Open/Closed/NAB/Accepted
Link: link

F-102A (Bugs: 1)

Description: Simply put, a Greek F-102A.

Bugs/Inaccuracies:

Bug: Missing Multiple Aim-4 variants and the Aim-26B.
Details: This aircraft used earlier Aim-4s, such as the Aim-4C. Arms transfer database (unreliable as it is) states a transfer of Aim-26Bs did occur, and the HF website lists it as an armament option of this aircraft.
Status: No report as of now. I’m working on it.

A-7H/A-7E (Bugs: 1)

Description: The A-7H, unlike the A-7E, lacks any refueling probe, reducing drag ever so slightly. Besides this, it is otherwise identical to the A-7E. Greece operated both, and will be receiving both this update, with the A-7E in the form of a premium aircraft.

Bugs/Inaccuracies:

Bug: Uses wrong sidewinde variants.
Details: Despite being based on a US naval aircraft, the Corsair IIs in HAF service used the Aim-9P series missiles, not the Navy Aim-9D/G missiles.
Status: No report as of now. I’m working on it.
Link:

Mirage F1CG (Bugs: 1)

Description: A Greek Mirage F1C that notably only ever used sidewinders for air to air combat. Although it did not use countermeasures, gaijin has given it some anyway.

Bugs/Inaccuracies:

Bug: Missing Aim-9P-4 and Aim-9B missile.
Details: This aircraft used the Aim-9P-4 missiles alongside Aim-9Bs and Aim-9Ps.
Status: No report as of now. I’m working on it.
Link: link

F-4E AUP (Bugs: 3)

Description: Perhaps the most powerful phantom there ever was, in certain regards at least. It features a unique cockpit layout and unique weapon options compared to its German “counterpart” as some call it. Find more out about it here.

Bugs/Inaccuracies:

Bug: Never used AGM-65Ds
Details: This aircraft only ever used the AGM-65B and AGM-65G.
Status: No report as of now. I’m working on it.
Link:

Bug: Never used Aim-9Ls, missing Aim-9L/I & Aim-9L/I-1
Details: This aircraft only ever used the Aim-9L/I, Aim-9L/I-, and Aim-9M missiles.
Status: No report as of now. I’m working on it.
Link:

Bug: Never used Aim-120A, missing Aim-120B
Details: This aircraft only ever used the Aim-120B, and possibly the Aim-120C-5/7 AMRAAMs.
Status: “Not a Bug”
Link: Community Bug Reporting System

Mirage 2000-5 Mk.2 EG (Bugs: None)

Description: Unlike the Mirage 2000-5s we have ingame, this is based on the 2000-9, called the 2000-5 Mk.2 in Greek service. It features a better RDY-2 radar and self defense system than any other Mirage 2000 ingame.

No inaccuracies known. (Missing Exocet, not ingame)

Rafale EG (Bugs: 1)

Description: Simply put, a Greek Rafale. It seemingly lacks an IRST system. This aircraft could be integrated with the Spice series bombs in the future, however nothing about this is known as of now.

Bugs/Inaccuracies:

Bug: Shouldn’t have an IRST
Details: details
Status: Open/Closed/NAB/Accept Ed
Link: link

(Missing Exocet, not ingame)

GROUND

Osa-AKM (Bugs: None)

Description: Simply put, a Greek Osa-AKM.

No inaccuracies known.

Tor-M1 (Bugs: None)

Description: Simply put, a Greek Tor-M1.

No inaccuracies known.

Leopard 2HEL (Bugs: 1)

Description: A Greek Leopard 2A6EX. It features the Mexas hull armor array, Gen 2 thermals, an L/55 cannon with DM53, and outstanding mobility as is to be expected. Find more out about it here.

Bugs/Inaccuracies:

Bug: Missing 12.7mm RCWS Turret
Details: This vehicle has been seen and tested with the KNDS FLW 200 50-Caliber turret in 2013. It features an independent sight, smoke grenades, and a MG.
Status: Report in progress

Okay it does actually look like an LWS

Thank you for creating this thread. The F-86E(M) is a very glaringly inaccurate model. Hope to see it correcting to the CL-13 Mk.4 standard.

Can some make a bug report about the planes in israel with the new datalink pod not being able to fire more than one delilah or drop more than 1 gbu15 (f16d/i and kurnass 2000) i would appreciate if someone that knows what there doing could do it because i suck at making them

Hello, this thread is for discussing Greek vehicles, not Israeli ones.

Sadly, according to @Pipimer , we have confirmed it is a an instrument for wind and temperature purposes, similarly to the Abrams.

I was suspecting that but that looked like a lens

im pretty positive it lacked more than just the refueling probe, that being stuff like specialized naval avionics suite, as the H was fully landbased, it was removed as it didnt need it. it also had electric gas turbine engine starter which as far as am aware the E didnt.
where am going with is am pretty sure the H is supposed to be lighter and slightly more nimble than the E.

could be wrong ofc

That was only a demo model not a service one

F86EM also doesn’t have external fuel tanks configured.

So should the french one, but they added it anyways because it could be installed, they just havent bought it yet

Ik i cant make one in here to talk about it on the dev server section

Agree. There is “technical compatability” - the same way all of AH-64E got dircm.

Btw, im not sure tgp should be compatable with missiles on the middle pylon.

damm you already got it??

yeah, just played few games on premium netz. Ive got all of the jets.

damm, i know its not the correct tread to ask but do you like them?

How can you dont like rafale? I literally realised I have no chaff (cos im stock) when missile was already flying at me and i was like at 8km of altitude. But who cares? Just dodged aim-120 by f-pole
