Great Britain WW1 Air Tree Expansion

Have you considered any Austro-Hungarian planes for Germany?

I haven’t and I probably won’t. The problem with Austria-Hungary is Austria has strong ties with Germany but Hungary is currently a sub-tree of Italy. And both of those already have WW1 aircraft that could be added.

And also Austria-Hungary never produced any domestic aircraft, they relied solely on buying German planes.

In a similar state is the Ottoman Empire. They relied on German bought aircraft and never made their own domestic aircraft and could really only go to Italy since they have some Turkish vehicles but then Italy would be swamped.

They did produce some planes of their own, yes on basis of German designs but still. You can differentiate between vehicles built in Hungarian part of the Empire and Austrian one, with whatever Austrians built going to Germany also for German TT is there posibility for DFW Floch?

All in all I love your WW1 projects, very cool and neat I believe War Thunder has some future going back in time. thank you.

I must have missed that. I remember I was going to do it originally but I read somewhere that they never made their own aircraft so along with trying to work out where to place it I decided to scrap it.

Once my German suggestion is approved I think I will just add those to designs to it.

I loved the ww1 event. Would be nice to include it in base game. +1!

Done some quick custom tech trees for WW1 France and the US.

France

The US

Like with the British WW1 Tech Tree the BR’s are just a guess based off of engine performance, armament, and introduction date.

When I get more time I hope to make the suggestions for these two before moving onto Italy and Russia.

If anyone has any suggestions for aircraft that could be added to these feel free to say.

I’ve never learned about WW1 vehicles too in depth, and much like War Thunder did for me with WW2 aircraft and tanks of all eras, it’d be a great and interesting expansion of the game to prompt the intrigue (would rather this to infantry but I digress).
I’d say an optionally researchable rank 0 would be good.

Suggestion for American WW1 TT expansion is now pending. Working on the French suggestion shortly.

+1, I think it would be really interesting to include WWI and the interwar period in the tech trees.

Just got done with the French suggestion.

I’m guessing about 3 months before it gets approved.

French and Italian tech trees would gain a lot from WW1 expansion :D

I’m also 100% on favor with the idea of WW1 ground tree expansion it would just add something completely new and refreshing to the game! Absolutely +1. It only makes sense, 0.0, 0.3, 0.7 and then 1.0.

If anyone knows of a world war 1 ground expansion suggestion please let me know. Although some WW1 and interwar tanks are well armored and well armed, despite being slow.

There’s a few suggestions for individual ground vehicles and there’s also this one which covers a lot of WW1.

I think really cool additions to British proposal would be P.B. 29 and P.B. 31E. Maybe one premium and one in tech tree.

I think I’m going to just add the 31E since even by WW1 standards the 29 would be horrendous with it only ever having a single Lewis gun with a top speed of 97kph. Basically it would be how the Po-2 is to reserve aircraft, but way worse.

The 31E however would be a better fit and actually useable (to an extent). It had a similar top speed but was fitted with 2 Lewis guns and 37mm Davis cannon.

As far as WW1 goes, there were many very very peculiar and cool aircraft but some were also pretty slow since technology was new but developing fast. I hope there will not be many aircraft left out due to speed albeit true for such large aircraft single machine gun can feel inadequate. If may I ask did you consider to do any larger expansions to current British TT or have any other aircraft planned?
I believe WW1 really adds uniqueness and wackiness at the same time that can not be seen as much later down the line so hopes are up that Gaijin is going to implement it one day, WW1 and Golden age of aviation that is.

Yeah I hope to include as much as I can with these WW1 expansion suggestions, but sometimes a line should be drawn. Most of the time an aircrafts speed/manoeuvrability/armament can make up for it’s short comings but sometimes it just isn’t enough. The PB.29 lacked all of them really being incredibly slow, lacking any sort of agility, and only having one Lewis gun with what appears to be some pretty limited firing angles.

No, just this one. Although planning to do some more suggestions like this one for Russia and Italy. Will most probably do them in the new year and after I’ve grinded my way through this last major update. In the meantime I do have suggestions for WW1 air for Germany, France, and the US pending but those probably won’t get approved for a while.

I was originally going to make these suggestions into one big suggestion including every nation but after speaking to a suggestion mod it seemed too similar to the one done by Ghostmaxi so I chose to just do this one and Germany. Then this got approved and there was enough want from people for the other nations so I got back out those plans.

Not really, if I see any I think would fit I’ll add it or if you or anyone has something that could fit I’ll add it.

But once I get the Russian and Italian suggestions done I might make suggestions for each of the aircraft in these suggestions.

If you want I am ready to help you working on tech trees, I am really liking these ideas :).
Thank you.

Thanks for the offer but it’s all good. Finding aircraft is easy enough, I just take a look through Wikipedia’s WW1 aircraft list and a few others like Military Factory and pick out what I think would be most suitable. That bit and actually making the custom TT’s is fairly easy.

The more time consuming part is the writing of the suggestions. They get easier the more I do since I can scavenge from them so I’m not writing out the exact same stuff like the short aircraft descriptions. (After doing the French suggestion I’m sick of typing Le Rhône 9-blank- engine.)

But again thanks for the offer and the support but it’s all good.

Enjoy writing Caproni so many times too haha. For Russians during WW1 there were also Lebed aircrafts which were also a lot of time modified German ones so I suppose those can be tricky but unique on its own :).
