I would like to report a reproducible bug involving GPS-guided bombs and man-in-the-loop missiles.
Problem:
After firing a man-in-the-loop missile, for example X-59M, if I designate a target point via the map or point of interest and then release a GPS-guided bomb, for example FAB-500 UMPK, the bomb completely ignores the GPS target. It flies in a straight line along its release vector and misses the designated point. The guidance appears to be completely disabled for the entire duration the man-in-the-loop missile is in flight.
Steps to reproduce:
- Spawn an aircraft carrying both a man-in-the-loop missile and GPS-guided bombs, for example Su-34 with X-59M and FAB-500 UMPK.
- Launch the man-in-the-loop missile.
- While the missile is still in flight, designate a target point using the map or point of interest function.
- Release the GPS-guided bomb.
- Observe the flight path of the bomb.
Expected behavior:
The GPS-guided bomb should guide to the coordinates designated on the map and hit the target.
Actual behavior:
The bomb completely ignores the GPS target and flies straight along its release angle, missing the target by a wide margin.
Additional evidence and comparison:
If I designate the same target point via a targeting pod instead of the map, the GPS bomb guides correctly and hits the target. This isolates the issue to the map-designated target path when a man-in-the-loop missile is active.
I have seen similar reports on the community issue tracker, for example the report about X-59M and FAB-500 UMPK at Community Bug Reporting System, which suggests this is not an isolated case.
Impact:
This bug makes mixed loadouts with man-in-the-loop missiles and GPS bombs unreliable, as players cannot designate targets via the map during missile flight, which is a common and intended tactic.
I can provide a server replay link and additional footage if needed. Thank you for looking into this.
