Title. I played Mirage and J-11B the most often. now I got Gripen and try to master it, battle feel sluggish with how slow your missile is compared to the one I said on title. Is there any hope for me or am I finished and doomed to fly MICA plane.

I feel this after playing China for a while and now switching to UK again its… an experience
God I wish American was not so mentally challenged and purposefully made their missile move and manoeuvre like a damn armadillo. it’s such a pain playing france and China and then go back to plane equipped with US Missile and realized just how slow they are.

Haha, it’s so bad when i switch from playing my J-10/Mirage to go and play an F-16 or something else, as you said the AMRAAM feels so much less versatile, and because I don’t enjoy BVR in air rb, i tend to play around the furball, launching PL-12/MICAs into it and racking up the kills.
I think Chinese top tier is the most well rounded tree in game, especially since you can experience every fox 3 besides Derby lol

You get r-77 (base edition) on the abysnal J-11A, but no 77-1 yeah
Back when ARHs were added I grinded KWS with 29G so I went directly from R-73 and R-27ERs to 9Ms and 120As and let me tell you I felt the difference in speed between 27ER and amraam.
I also recently switched from US 5.7 with my 76mm shermans with APHE and short stop stabs to UK 5.7 which had neither and I nearly got a stroke.
Gotta just grit your teeth and play until they feel comfortable again.

There’s a skill to playing a ton of different airframes at top tier, memorising all the distent stats and features, but it’s rewarding when you can play anything and do well

I eventually adapted but it took me few games to realize that with AMRAAMs I cant take the same shots I would take woth 27ER or that with Comet I cant be as agressive as I would be with easy eight.

Still for the live of me can’t find out how to make J-10 works. it’s like the worst plane i’d do in. and I can fly J-11B and Mirage well.
I play mine super aggressive, launching close range at 90° with the good radar gimbal and HMD slaving, then going straight into a notch or using terrain.
K/D isn’t the best but I had a really bad stock grind, averaging 3-4 kills nowadays, I still massively prefer the mirage though, it’s my favourite airframe
My issue exactly. I can;t for the life of me make the airframe work and the way they want you to suffer in terms of stock missile grind infuriates me. case and point the missile placement. I got my PL-12 at tier 3 for J-11B but I have to do more in J-10.
I had a similar issue when switching from the mirage 2k sc4 and the f86k and vautour 2n. The transition from magic 2 to aim9 b was an “interesting” experience (not to mention the abysmal missiles on the vautour).
it would be nice if gaijin didnt artificially nerf US missiles maneuverability
120A is identical to 120B and 120C is s significant downgrade
gaijin just has nerfed their fin AOA unrealistically so they dont pull anywhere near as hard as they should

120As had decent maneuverability in their first dev iteration, they felt good. Similar to how a PL-12 feels now.
The 120C’s behaved like AAM-4s in their first iteration, now they are garbage by comparison, except for the high altitude long range fox3 spam that only get kills on overly aggressive or distracted players
China has some amazing missiles across the board and the rafale is undertiered to hell. IDK what to tell you man other than welcome back to the suffering
